While this claim dwarfs much more reliable reporting that puts the number at a little over $160 million, what appears to be a massive exaggeration actually provides a perfect opportunity to understand what games the SPLC has been playing with the American people for the past four decades.

Of course, pawns have value only if they can remove the opponent’s pieces from the board. While the high court was deciding just such a case protecting donor privacy, the SPLC launched its “Hate-Free Philanthropy” campaign, a not-so-subtle attempt to circumvent the ruling by urging private companies to keep the identities of our donors secret.

The SPLC has played too much games with the American people. Dissent is not discrimination or hate. We are tired of seeing our neighbors vilified as radicals and ostracized by civil society simply because they have the courage to speak out against what others think.

The only question remains: Will the political Left at large learn this lesson, or will it be left to former SPLC employees in the unemployment line to ponder it?
