After the Jharkhand cabinet expansion, CM Hemant Soren said, ‘There is no proper policy for the displaced…decision to form a commission’ | India News


Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after cabinet expansion… hemant soren On Monday, he said that mining activities are going on on a large scale in Jharkhand but there is no policy for the displaced people. He said that the government has decided to form a commission.
“The cabinet has been expanded today. We also had a meeting. From tomorrow everyone will start their work… There is a lot of mining activity here… But the government had no policy for the people affected by it. Today we have decided to form a commission for them,” the Jharkhand CM told reporters on Monday.
He further said that the state government has to fulfill the responsibility given by the people of the state.
He said, “Mining activities are carried out on a large scale in Jharkhand as it has 40 per cent of the mineral reserves of the country but there is no proper policy for the displaced or the people to be displaced. Soon we will form a displacement commission and come out with detailed information. A socio-economic survey of the displaced people and a database will be prepared so that we can understand the ups and downs of mining and prepare a document as to what benefits and what losses our people get due to mining activities and its impact and prepare a report.”
Before this, the first meeting of ministers was called in the Project Bhawan by the Jharkhand government.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand minister Deepika Pandey Singh said that farmers are the backbone of our state’s economy.
“Farmers are the backbone of our state’s economy. How to provide them maximum benefits will be an important issue. Loan waiver will be our flagship programme,” Deepika Pandey Singh told reporters.
Jharkhand Minister Baidyanath Ram said that the government will develop the education sector.
Baidyanath Ram said, “We will work for the development of the education sector…development work will continue…we will work to give better results in three months.”
Jharkhand Minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur said that the government is working towards achieving the target.
He said, “I have always taken care of the responsibility very carefully. This time too we have a big task before us… We have to provide clean drinking water to 61 lakh households and in this our role is bigger than that of the Centre. In the Nal Jal Yojana… the state government does the complete monitoring and the machinery is provided by the state government. We are working towards achieving our target.”

Champai Soren had resigned from the post of Chief Minister on July 3, a day before the elections. JMM Jharkhand’s acting president Hemant Soren took oath as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 4 July.
Along with Champai Soren, JMM leaders Baidya Nath Ram, Babi Devi, Mithilesh Thakur, Deepak Birua and Hafizul Hasan took oath as ministers.
Congress Leaders Rameshwar Oraon, Banna Gupta, Irfan Ansari, Deepika Pandey Singh and RJD leader Satyanand Bhokta also took oath as ministers.
Earlier today, Hemant Soren won the floor test during a special session of the state assembly. Hemant Soren won the trust vote with 45 MLAs voting in his favour. He took oath as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi on July 4.
Hemant Soren was released from the Birsa Munda jail on June 28 after nearly five months after he was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam.
He had resigned as chief minister before his arrest on January 31. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in January on charges related to an alleged land scam and money laundering.
Champai Soren, who became chief minister after the arrest, resigned from the post just five months after taking oath, leaving Hemant Soren likely to become chief minister again on Wednesday.
Champai Soren was sworn in as the 12th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at the Raj Bhavan on February 2 this year.
Earlier in a video message, Hemant Soren had accused the BJP of making false allegations against him.
“In the 2019 Jharkhand assembly elections, the people of Jharkhand gave our party a mandate, but the conspirators could not digest the fact that a tribal youth could occupy such a high post. Ultimately, on January 31, they (BJP) made false allegations against me and removed me from the post of Chief Minister. I am sitting in front of you today because of the blessings of the people. We will always be the voice of the people. Today, the public opinion of the people of Jharkhand will rise again. Work will be done again after taking charge.”
Hemant Soren’s return as chief minister will strengthen the JMM, which had won three seats in the tribal-dominated Jharkhand in the last assembly elections. Lok Sabha Elections,
In 2019, the JMM contested the assembly elections in alliance with the Congress and Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and won a comfortable majority with forty-seven seats in the 81-member House.
