“I wanted people to really understand what was going on. … Nobody talked about it, nobody gave any interviews on it. … I was like, damn it,” Kiba said in a January interview. “For me, if they want to come and take my account, this and that, you can’t fire someone like me. It’s like cockroaches.”

According to his criminal complaint, the brazen, hour-long interview turned a tip-off to federal authorities. Investigators tracked down multiple victims — including a real estate agent, dentist, businessperson, journalist and influencer, according to the complaint — and quickly realized the alleged extortionist was going far beyond just targeting their social media accounts.

Kiba reportedly destroyed the victims’ property and threatened to harm and kill them and their loved ones.

Another target’s Instagram account was locked and she was then informed that California dentist who had previously treated the victim’s last employer had allegedly hired Kiba to do the same.

In another case, he went to a victim’s home, picked up a rock from the driveway and smashed the windshields of a white Bentley and a white Mercedes-Benz, an incident that was captured on security footage, according to the documents.

Grandmaison told Fox News Digital he was glad his interview with the alleged extortionist was “useful in some way to get (Kiba) off the streets.”

Grandmaison, who has interviewed singers and rappers such as Usher and XXXtentacion, said he has spoken to people from all walks of life in the underground world for his podcast, including “hit men, serious drug traffickers, pimps and prostitutes.”

But his interview with Kiba, who was known as “Dani” or “Unlocked,” according to the criminal complaint, is noteworthy.

“Usually when you talk to a rapper who’s involved in some kind of illegal behavior, there’s always a refrain in the room, that this is something that shouldn’t be discussed on camera,” the podcast host said. “If they do try to say something, they say it in a coded way.

“But this guy really surprised me by how willing he is to discuss everything about his business. You might be wondering, ‘Why would you want to share all of this?'”

“I was quite surprised that he was willing to tell so much about it,” he added.

Grandmaison said that after the January interview, Kiba began threatening him as well.
