Chynna Phillips Opened up about how a recent move across the country put a strain on her relationship with her husband of 29 years, Billy Baldwin.
In a video shared on his faith-based YouTube channel “California Sermon,” the 56-year-old singer shared that she and the 61-year-old actor were “fighting and arguing,” noting that moving back to the West Coast provided the “perfect breeding ground” for disagreements.
Phillips admitted, “Billy and I have been working on it for the last few days.”

She continued, “We’re just worried about each other’s last bit, which is frustrating, because just when I think we’re moving forward and things are starting to get better, we start fighting again – very easily.”
“I was really proud of myself because this morning we started arguing and she said, ‘What do you want?’ And I was like, ‘I want to communicate properly, I want us to have effective communication.’
After she voiced the need to communicate, Phillips said that Baldwin “got his composure” and he “did the same.”

He added, “It was definitely a win for us because our tendency is to keep spiraling and the communication system keeps getting worse and we get into the race.” “Billy is my life partner. I mean, he’s the one I want to have the healthiest relationship with. He’s the one I want to be able to talk to when I’m feeling the weakest or the most upset or the most sensitive. Or the person I fear most is the one to whom I want to say, ‘Oh my God, I need to talk to you.’
“But sometimes I don’t do it. Sometimes I don’t do it because I don’t want to rock the boat, or I don’t want to ruin her mood, or I’m walking on some eggshells.”

Phillips explained that his breakdown in communication was “partly my fault.”
“I take responsibility for it because I have to learn to trust him and speak out and trust that he’ll be able to handle my emotions,” she admitted in the video.
Five times Grammy Award The nominee explained that she sometimes holds back from expressing her feelings towards Baldwin because she does not want to “send him into depression” or cause him “anxiety.”
“It just comes to me that I don’t want to trigger her, but the truth is that it’s that fear inside of me that is keeping us from true intimacy, because it’s keeping me from opening up with her, and I’m afraid of her feelings. I’m trying to protect her, and yet I’m causing more trouble in our marriage by doing so,” Phillips said.
“I’m shooting myself in the foot,” she said.

Phillips and Baldwin first met in 1991 during a chance encounter at an airport got married Four years later. The couple have daughters Jameson, 24, and Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22.
However, the two have seen many ups and downs in their marriage over the years. In March 2010, Phillips filed for divorce from Baldwin but withdrew her petition a few days later. During an interview with Us Weekly in June 2010, Phillips explained the reason behind his decision to file.

“I started feeling a little depressed, like I need more and I want more, and I know we deserve more from our marriage,” Phillips said at the time. “It became about the kids and my business, her business, and I missed her. I really missed her. I missed laughing together, spending our little vacations together.”
Phillips explained that she was feeling “despondent” about the state of her marriage but had a change of heart after realizing that divorcing Baldwin would be “the biggest mistake of my life.”
The California native told the outlet that the two were able to overcome the difficult period by “working together in therapy.”

Over the past few months, both Phillips and Baldwin have been opening up about the experience marital problems In recent years.
In a video on his YouTube channel in January, Phillips revealed that the pair had “split up for six months” but eventually reconciled. Phillips did not reveal when the split occurred, but said he believed their separation began when he dedicated his life to Jesus.
“I’ve been with Billie for 32 years and we’ve had a wonderful marriage, but we’ve definitely had some of the hardest years of our lives,” she said. “I think it’s because I just took a deep dive into Jesus, and I think he didn’t know what to do with it because it was just like Jesus, all the time.”

Phillips continued, “I’m no longer the same person I was 30 years ago and I refuse to have the same marriage we had 30 years ago.” “It’s a time for us to mature and evolve. He was on board, but I think for him, too, it was like, ‘Okay, you’re not into the things I’m into.'”

Later that month, Baldwin joined Phillips in a YouTube video, where the pair candidly discussed their marital problems. The couple admitted they separated for six months but insisted they “worked it out.”
“There’s this kind of systemic problem in our relationship between you and me, which is that you see your life and the world very differently than I do,” Phillips said. “Silver” star.
She added, “And sometimes it creates cracks and little rifts in our relationship and we’re trying our best to be able to bridge those differences in our marriage.” “The Christianity aspect of all this has been a burning issue for some time, as (religion) has taken over my life in many ways. It has probably also made you question whether you and I “Can actually make it last longer.”

“You will never divorce me, but will we be able to truly be happy, connected and move forward with me on this trajectory – this Jesus trajectory?” Phillips asked.
Baldwin joked that Phillips imagined they would become Jim Baker and Tammy Faye – “a revival team that travels the country.” Phillips quickly shut down the idea, saying, “Well, it’s a story you tell yourself.”
Baldwin responded, “It hasn’t turned out to be the kind of partnership you were eager for or hoping for.” “But I still love you completely, worship you and support you completely in your faith. That’s why I’m sitting here now. That’s why we go to church together. That’s why That’s why we pray together. That’s why we talk about faith together. That’s why I do this work for you.”
“That’s because I’m a supportive, loving husband who loves his wife, want to spend the rest of my life with you, no doubt.”
Phillips said he finds it “a little puzzling” that Baldwin believes in God but has not made “pursuing a relationship with this God” a “priority”.
“I just want you to start your journey, your faith journey,” He added.

Phillips is the daughter of Mamas & the Papas co-founders John and Michelle Phillips and the half-sister of Carnie Phillips and Bijou Phillips. Chynna and Carney, along with Wendy Wilson, comprise the pop music trio Wilson Phillips.
Baldwin is the brother of fellow actors Alec Baldwin, Stephen Baldwin, and Daniel Baldwin. Alec has been making headlines recently due to his recent incident with an anti-Israel protester as well as his upcoming trial for involuntary manslaughter for the fatal shooting on the set of “Rust.”
