Parental rights advocate Walz says abortion and religious freedom are ‘on a par with China and North Korea’

MINNEAPOLIS — A parental rights advocate in Minneapolis is warning that Policies of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz His views on issues such as abortion and gender ideology are far from “liberal,” and he says that under his leadership Minnesota has become one of the most progressive states in the country.

,“I was surprised to hear that the claim that his selection was made was that he is a moderate, and shares Minnesota’s values,” Renee Carlson, general counsel for True North Legal, the legal initiative of the Minnesota Family Council, told Fox News Digital.

“a lot of People in Minnesota “They are appalled by the policies that have been passed in Minnesota, particularly policies that affect happy families. They are disappointed and certainly not in keeping with their progressive ideology.”

Carlson told Fox News Digital that one of the major areas where Walz’s leadership has let his community down is the issue of abortion.

Minnesota lawmaker raises concerns about Governor Walz’s ‘radical agenda’ ahead of election: ‘Pretty heinous’

Renee Carlson of True North Legal spoke with Fox News Digital about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s record.

“From our perspective at True North Legal, we were very disappointed by the administration’s ruling on matters of protecting life and not only protecting these unborn children, but protecting women,” Carlson said. “They have some of the most extreme policies, not just in the United States, but in the world, on par with China and North Korea.”

“The reality is that most Minnesotans did not agree with his view.” Abortion policy until birth Without any limitation,” he added. “That’s for anyone, including minors. There’s also a repeal that partners with the fundamental right to almost all of the protective safeguards for women and girls seeking abortions. That means removing hospital-only laws, doctor-only laws, 24-hour waiting periods. A woman’s right to know, which gives them the only information they need about what happens to their body when they get an abortion.”

Carlson said the law in Minnesota was amended to remove protections for babies born alive after an abortion and they now receive only “comfort care” instead of “life-saving care.”

“We’re talking about an administration that thinks it’s okay to let unborn babies who survive abortion die on a cold metal table,” Carlson said. “Cattle and reptiles in Minnesota now have more rights than Minnesota women and unborn babies when it comes to abortion.”

When it comes to religious freedom under Governor Walz, Carlson says he has missed the mark.

“It’s very disappointing and it’s not a liberal stance at all,” he said. “I mean, it’s a blatant attack on our fundamental freedoms and First Amendment Rights,

“The Minnesota Human Rights Act, like many states, has anti-discrimination provisions based on specific categories. One of them is gender identity, and that is oftentimes in conflict with the sincerely held religious beliefs of religious people in Minnesota. And that’s about half the population,” Carlson said. “Well, there was a special exemption made in the ’90s when sexual orientation was added as a protected class to the Minnesota Human Rights Act. I mean, and that was a wonderful demonstration of pluralism. If that law was being added, at least within this exemption there were protections for religious organizations. Well, as I said, that exemption was removed last year.”

“These are shameless policies. These are not liberal,” he said.

Walz, Joe Nicknamed by some Republicans Carlson, known in the state as “Tampon Tim” for allowing menstrual products to be kept in some boys’ school restrooms, also received a failing grade on gender ideology.

“Minnesota — surprisingly, even though it’s in the Midwest — is emerging as one of the most progressive states in terms of gender policies,” he said. “Basically, their policies reflect a sense that they would like to make gender ideology the highest category.”

Carlson told Fox News Digital that the Walz administration “has not proven to be a moderate administration at all” and that “they’ve passed some of the most extreme progressive policies.”

“Their state agencies have implemented some of the most progressive laws, and that’s disappointing,” he said.

“This has been a struggle for a lot of people in Minnesota, and if this is what’s happening in Minnesota, imagine what’s going to happen to the fabric of our country. We’re fighting for our freedoms. I mean, even something as simple as religious freedom was at risk in Minnesota. If this is happening in Minnesota, imagine what could happen across the country. I think people need to take a closer look at Minnesota and the policies that have been passed there. And again, in my first-hand experience, this is not a moderate administration. These are some of the most progressive, extreme policies we’ve seen in the entire country.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris-Walz campaign for comment but did not receive a response.
