GoPro Hero Black 13: Key specifications, accessories and more

As for video quality, the Hero Black 13 supports 5.3K resolution at 60 frames per second. The camera also has a new 13x burst slow-mo feature that can capture up to 400 frames per second at 720p (HD) resolution. The camera can also capture slow-motion videos at 120 frames per second in 5.3K resolution and 360 frames per second videos in 900p resolution. The new camera also includes a large capacity enduro battery that extends runtime in all weather conditions.
The Hero Black 13 also supports a new magnetic latch mounting and Wi-Fi 6 that promises up to 40% faster content transfer speeds. The camera is also capable of recording Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) HDR videos that offer a wider colour gamut and support more customisable audio tuning. The Hero Black 13 also supports GPS to track speed, path, terrain and more.
The camera is claimed to have a 1900mAh Enduro battery with a 10% larger capacity that offers better power efficiency and a newly designed battery enclosure for longer runtime in all conditions. The Hero Black 13 promises 1.5 hours of continuous recording at the highest resolution 4K30 and 5.3K30 settings, as well as over 2.5 hours of continuous recording at HD-quality 1080p30.
The Hero Black also supports 13 new HB Series lenses that are automatically detected by the camera to provide optimal setting options based on the lens type and environment. The company says the four HB-series lenses are the only lenses compatible with GoPro-patented HyperSmooth stabilization and are waterproof and scratch-resistant with hydrophobic coatings.
Ultra-wide lens mod: It offers a 177-degree field of view and a new 1:1 aspect ratio that can help users crop their footage into widescreen 16:9 or vertical 9:16 shots – no matter how the camera is mounted. This lens also maximizes HyperSmooth performance for unbreakable 360-degree Horizon Lock in-camera video stabilization up to 4K60 resolution.
Macro Lens Mod: This lens offers variable focus on objects at a distance and objects up to 4x closer than the standard GoPro lens. The variable focus ring will allow users to manually adjust the focus distance from as close as 4.3 inches (11 cm).
Anamorphic Lens Mod: This lens can help users capture artistic footage at ultra wide-angle in a 21:9 aspect ratio (like feature films) with less distortion than a traditional wide-angle perspective. Cinematic lens flares enhance the character of the footage, while in-camera “de-squeezing” makes it easier to capture, review, and edit anamorphic content without an intensive post-production workflow.
ND Filters 4-Pack: These four HB-series neutral density (ND) filters — ND4 / ND8 / ND16 / ND32 — help create cinematic motion blur in shots. Users can simply apply a filter and the camera automatically detects it, then it goes into Auto Cinematic Video mode, and dials in the best settings based on the environment.
