Application forms for RRB NTPC 2024 will be accepted online at rrbapply.gov.in. Also, an offline notification for these non-technical posts has been released in the employment news.
RRB has also announced the complete schedule of the online application process. As per the Railway NTPC Notification 2024, candidates interested in the graduate level posts can apply online from 14 September to 13 October 2024.
The online application process for graduate level posts will be open from 21 September to 20 October 2024. Any update on these dates will be reflected in the table given on the official website.

RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 Notification: Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the RRB NTPC 2024 exam, candidates must have the required educational qualification for the respective posts. For posts like Goods Train Manager, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Station Master, applicants must have a graduation degree from a recognized university or its equivalent. For posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, candidates must have passed 12th class from a recognized school or its equivalent and must have proficiency in typing in Hindi or English on computer.
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 Notification: Detailed Exam Pattern
The RRB NTPC Stage-1 exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) of screening nature, in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts. The duration of the exam for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) has been fixed at 120 minutes. There will be negative marking in the exam, in which one-third marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of 20 times the number of vacancies of posts community-wise, based on their merit in the 1st Stage CBT and their choice of posts. The normalized score obtained from the 1st Stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT.
RRB NTPC Stage-1 CBT will consist of 100 questions divided into three sections: Mathematics (30 questions), General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 questions), and General Awareness (40 questions), with a total exam duration of 90 minutes.
The minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in different categories is 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC (non-creamy layer) and SC and 25% for ST. There may be relaxation of up to 2% for PwBD candidates in case there are shortage of reserved vacancies.
Candidates who qualify for the second stage CBT under reserved categories such as OBC (NCL), SC, ST, EWS, PwBD and ExSM will continue to be considered under their respective categories during the recruitment process. The duration of the exam for PwD candidates will be 120 minutes, and there will be a negative marking scheme similar to that of Stage-1.
RRB NTPC Stage-2 Exam Pattern 2024
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 Notification: Typing Skill Test (TST) and Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
The Typing Skill Test (TST) is qualifying in nature, and candidates must type at 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer without using editing tools or spell-check facilities. For the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), which is applicable only for candidates opting for the posts of Traffic Assistant and Station Master, a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each test battery is required to qualify. The merit list for these posts will be prepared with 70% weightage given to 2nd Stage CBT marks and 30% weightage given to CBAT marks.
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 Notification: What is the Salary Structure?
RRB NTPC posts are classified into Graduate and Undergraduate categories, each of which has different starting pay scales as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). For undergraduate posts, the salary for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk has been fixed at Rs 19,900 per month, while Commercial cum Ticket Clerk gets Rs 21,700 per month. Graduate level posts have higher pay scales: Goods Train Manager and Junior Account Assistant cum Typist get Rs 29,200 per month, while Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor and Station Master are paid Rs 35,400 per month.
Employees of both categories are entitled to additional benefits such as Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), pension scheme and medical benefits.
