Along with the Apple iPhone 16 series, Apple also launched Apple Watch Announced the Series 10, AirPods 4, and some updates for its Apple Watch Ultra 2 and AirPods MaxHere are 9 important things about Apple’s new lineup that Apple didn’t talk about much but that matter to buyers.

Larger screen size of iPhone 16 Pro model

Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, and the Apple 16 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display, larger than the previous models (iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max), which measured 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. Apple iPhone 16 Pro model launch price in India is lower than iPhone 15 Pro model

For the first time, Apple’s new iPhones are priced lower than their previous iPhones. The launch price of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max is Rs 15,000 lower than the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The lower price is a result of the duty cuts announced in the recent Union Budget as well as the fact that Apple is manufacturing the iPhone 16 Pro models in India – again for the first time.

After two years, non-Pro iPhone models get new processors

After two years, Apple has given its entire new iPhone lineup a processor upgrade. This means all four new iPhones – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max – come with the new processors. The Apple iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will run on Apple’s all-new SoC A18, while the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are powered by the A18 Pro.
Apple iPhone 16 series comes with a physical button for the camera
The entire lineup of Apple iPhone 16 series features a new capacitive button, named “Camera Control”. The purpose of this button is to make photo and video capture easier. Additionally, the action button that was limited to the iPhone 15 Pro models is now available in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models as well. It replaces the traditional mute switch. Apple claims that it has strengthened the iPhone 16 with the strongest glass ever, which protects the display from scratches. The iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Plus has a larger 6.7-inch display. The camera control offers touch-sensitive functionality. A simple press captures a photo, while sliding your finger across the button adjusts the zoom level.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus come with new camera layout
The new iPhones are expected to feature a design change — yes, there is. The Apple iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus feature a vertical camera layout, different from the previous-generation iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. Apple introduced the horizontal camera layout with the iPhone 13 models.

Apple Watch gets its biggest upgrade ever with the Apple Watch Series 10

This year (2024) the Apple Watch will turn 10 years old. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch, Apple has given the biggest update to the Apple Watch ever with the Apple Watch Series 10. The Apple Watch Series 10 features the brightest display Apple has ever put on an Apple Watch. The Apple Watch Series 10 is the first Apple Watch to come with a wide-angle OLED display that will allow users to see the watch better from an angle. Apple also calls it the company’s “thinnest Apple Watch ever.” Among health features, it has the ability to detect symptoms of sleep apnea. The Apple Watch comes in a titanium finish for the first time, joining a long-standing trend in the watch industry of offering a stronger, more lightweight and high-quality watch as an alternative to traditional materials.

Apple did not launch the successor of its two watches – both the cheapest and the most expensive

It may also be surprising that Apple hasn’t announced a successor to its two smartwatch series – the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Apple Watch SE 2. While Apple’s rugged smartwatch was meant for athletes and those looking for an outdoor activity smartwatch – the Apple Watch Ultra was launched in 2022 and updated in 2023, this year Apple only announced a new colour for the smartwatch along with some other minor updates. The Apple Watch SE 2, the affordable variant of the Apple Watch, was first launched in 2020 and has been arriving every other year since then. Analysts were expecting Apple to also launch a third-generation version of the Apple Watch SE this year.

AirPods Max haven’t gotten a full refresh even after four years

Apple launched its most premium headphones AirPods Max in 2020. For four years, the AirPods Max headphones have not received an upgrade. This year Apple announced some updates like new color options and support for USB-C, but nothing more. Those waiting for the next generation of AirPods Max are still waiting.

No change in base storage for any iPhone model this year

There is no change in the base storage of the new iPhone models – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This means that Apple has retained the same base storage for the iPhone 16 series as the iPhone 15 series models. This means that it is 128GB for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro. For the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it is 256GB.

For the first time, non-Pro AirPods get ANC feature

For the first time, Apple has added ANC support to its non-Pro AirPod models. As Apple said, “For the first time, AirPods 4 bring ANC to an open-ear design with an additional model. With upgraded microphones, the power of the H2 chip, and advanced computational audio, AirPods 4 with ANC help reduce environmental noises like airplane engines, city traffic, and more. Working across hardware and software to deliver the most natural listening experience, AirPods 4 with ANC also introduce intelligent features like Transparency mode to keep users aware of their environment; Adaptive Audio, which dynamically blends Transparency mode and ANC based on the user’s environmental conditions; and Conversation Awareness, which lowers the user’s media volume when they start talking to someone nearby.”
