Top House committee slams Biden-Harris administration over border crisis in new report: ‘An assault on the rule of law’

First on Fox: A major report released on Wednesday republican majority A member of the House Homeland Security Committee has accused the Biden-Harris administration of launching an “assault on the rule of law” in its handling of the crisis at the southern border — and warned of consequences for years to come.

“Simply put, (President) Biden, (Vice President Kamala) Harris, and (Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro) Mayorkas have attacked the rule of law, and in doing so, have undermined the sovereignty, national security, and long-term well-being of the country they claim to serve,” the report, “Crisis by Design: A Comprehensive Look at the Biden-Harris Administration’s Unprecedented Border Crisis,” states.

“Biden, Harris and Mayorkas were entrusted with the responsibility Secure the border“Enforcing the law, and keeping Americans safe. They have not only broken that trust, but they have willfully ignored their sacred duty to the American people.”

Report The Republican claim is outlined in detail that the three-year-long historic crisis at the southern border and the havoc created across the country by illegal immigration are a direct result of the rollback of Trump-era policies and the implementation of what Republicans call an open borders policy.

It projects more than 11.6 million encounters nationwide by the end of the Biden administration, not including untraceable “fugitives.”

“The flood of illegal aliens across America’s sovereign borders has been objectively unprecedented,” he said.

It cited comments by House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green. “Even if not a single undocumented alien were to cross our borders during the remainder of Biden and Harris’ terms, they have already allowed millions into our country, causing so much damage that it will take decades to repair.”

The report accuses the administration of “deliberately and systematically refusing to obey the law,” and accuses it of planning to flood ports of entry with foreign nationals through the use of mass paroles via the CBP One app and a separate program to bring in 30,000 citizens per month from four countries.

The costs of the border crisis include: Importation of fentanylThe added crime and costs to cities like New York City, Denver and other parts of the country, including law enforcement, transportation and social services. It also found that the crisis has given more power to criminal gangs and gangs that take control of the border and exploit migrants.

“Several factors have enabled the cartels to gain unprecedented control of the Southwest border — and all of them have to do with the Biden-Harris Administration’s open borders policies,” it says.

The report takes aim at Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who was impeached by the House earlier this year but not tried by the Senate. In the report, Republicans criticize not only Mayorkas but also President Biden and Vice President Harris, who it says “completely failed” in her role as “border czar.” Harris was tasked with tackling the root causes of migration in 2021, but the White House has rejected the term border czar.

“It’s time for the Biden-Harris administration to follow the law and end this crisis — or back down,” the report said.

The White House and DHS did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The report comes ahead of a hearing on the matter Wednesday morning, and as immigration has become a top issue for voters ahead of the November election. While Republicans blame the Biden administration for the crisis, the administration and Democrats say it’s Congress’ fault for failing to pass comprehensive immigration reforms to fix a “broken” system and provide additional funding.

It also secured additional funding for technology at ports of entry to better intercept fentanyl, adding that Successful Attempts Demanded aggressive action against smugglers.

The administration has put in all its efforts bipartisan senate bill It would have made more money available and put some limits on refugees entering the U.S. Republicans said the bill would codify high levels of illegal immigration and instead pointed to the border package passed by the House last year.

The ban comes as President Biden signed an order in June limiting entry into the U.S. The administration says border encounters have dropped dramatically since then, down by more than 50%.

“For months, the Biden-Harris Administration worked with a bipartisan group of Senators to craft a historic bipartisan border security agreement that would have added thousands of frontline workers to the border — but congressional Republicans voted against that agreement twice — proving they are more interested in politics than securing the border,” the White House said last month. “The Biden-Harris Administration has taken effective action, and Republicans are still doing nothing.”
