Newly released footage shows that the women’s gymnastics judges did not consider a request from American coaches in the floor routine final at the Paris Olympics. Biles was penalized 0.6 points for stepping off the competition mat. Had she received full credit for her split leap, she would have received an additional 0.10 in difficulty and 14.233 points. This would have put her ahead of Andrade, who scored 14.166.

Had Biles won gold in that event, the US would have had 41 gold medals at the Paris Games and would have been in sole possession of the lead in the gold medal race. But instead the US tied with China with 40 gold medals.

It would have also ended one of the many famous moments of the Paris Olympics, when Chiles and Biles bowed to Andrade on opposite sides of the medal podium. Before further review, it was the first all-back gymnastics podium in Olympic history.

Biles responded to the footage in a post on Wednesday, saying she was happy with the outcome and was more focused on Chiles’ court case.

“Rebecca’s floor was better anyway, but it was upsetting that it wasn’t processed, but I’m not angry at the results,” Chiles wrote. “But justice must be done for Jordan.”

Biles has won more Olympic medals than any gymnast in U.S. history, 11, including seven gold medals in team events. Her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals make her the most decorated gymnast in history.

The video was provided to Chiles by the director of Biles’ latest documentary project “Simone Biles: Rising” on Netflix. Director Katie Walsh and production company Religion of Sports, who received permission to film Biles and her team during the Olympic competition. The footage has now been released to help Chiles make her case for the bronze medal, which was stripped at the end of the Paris Games and given to Ana Barbosu of Romania.

According to court documents filed with Switzerland’s Federal Supreme Court on Monday, Chiles’ lawyer has presented footage from the company that produces Bill’s Netflix series that he alleges shows visual evidence in Chiles’ favor. According to multiple reports, he claims the footage proves that the request for a review that raised Chiles’ score was not submitted after the deadline.

Barbosu initially won the bronze medal for floor and began celebrating on the mat. But then the American coaches appealed to the judges about Chiles’ score and the review resulted in a 0.1 point increase, allowing Chiles to overtake Barbosu for the bronze medal.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later ruled that the event’s jury had improperly allowed the investigation to take place. Chile’s score increased. Chiles’ lawyers have argued that CAS, which rendered the final decision, violated Chiles’ ‘fundamental right to be heard’ by “refusing to consider video evidence that demonstrated his investigation was submitted on time — which is in direct contradiction to the findings in the CAS decision.”

Their lawyers also claimed that CAS President Hamid G. Gharawi had a conflict of interest. Gharawi served as Romania’s lawyer for nearly a decade and was the country’s active representative when CAS decided to strip the Chileans of their medal.

“For me, what happened is not about the medal, it’s about the color of my skin,” Chiles said, crying.
