Angelina Jolie She said she and her 16-year-old daughter Vivienne have similar tattoos on their bodies.
During a new Interview with CR Fashion Book, The 49-year-old actress revealed that she and Vivienne recently got tattoos commemorating the Broadway musical “The Outsiders,” which the mother-daughter duo worked on together.
“I sang ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during ‘The Outsiders,'” Jolie said. “It means a lot to us individually and together.”
The Academy Award winner first showed off the tattoo on the red carpet at the opening night of “The Outsiders” in April, which she attended with Vivienne. It reads “Stay Gold” in black on her left arm along with several other tattoos. Speaking to CR Fashion Book, Jolie did not reveal where Vivienne’s tattoo was inked.
“The Outsiders” was based on S.E. Hinton’s 1967 book of the same name and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film adaptation, starring C. Thomas Howell, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon. Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio and Diane Lane.
“Stay Gold” is a famous quote from the book and movie. It refers to a line from the poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost. “Stay Gold” is also a song in “The Outsiders” musical.
Jolie told the outlet that some of her other children also have a bird tattoo, and she said the tattoo is “personal to us.” However, the actress did not reveal which of her children also has a bird tattoo.
Along with Vivienne and her twin brother Knox, Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt also have sons Maddox23, and Calmness20, and daughters Zahara19, and Shiloh, 18.
At the 2024 Tony Awards in June, Jolie showed off a small bird tattoo on her chest, though it’s unclear if this is the same tattoo she was referring to in her interview with CR Fashion Book.
Jolie served as a producer “The Foreigner,” While there Vivienne was employed as a producer’s assistant. Directed by Danya Taymor, “The Outsiders” was nominated for 12 Tony Awards, winning four, including Best New Musical.

Jolie previously spoke about how Vivienne inspired her to produce a Broadway musical adaptation of “The Outsiders” after seeing it several times at San Diego’s La Jolla Playhouse.
“My daughter Viv loves theater,” Jolie said in an interview with Deadline in June. “She appreciates all kinds of theater, but she definitely knows what she feels very close to and responds to. She went to see ‘The Outsiders’ in La Jolla about five times and was telling me about it, and I had read the book, and I had seen the movie years ago.”
Jolie said that Vivienne had asked her to watch the play with her, and she then understood why her daughter loved the play.

“Danya explains how important it is for teenagers, how come it was written by someone my daughter’s age?” Jolie told the outlet. “So, really, as a mom, as a person, I was looking at it, but I was really looking at the impact it was having on my young daughter and what she was telling me about herself, and I was learning what about it was important to her and why it connected so deeply to her.”
He further added, “So, it was a very different experience to understand how this was having a significant impact on her as a young person, and that was telling me something, and that’s the power of this material, which was still really well-received at the time.”
“And then I had the privilege of watching everyone work over the last year to get it to this point, and Vivienne was with me the whole journey.”

During her interview with CR Fashion Book, Jolie opened up about the lessons she learned. his children I had taught him.
