Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee called “In God We Trust,” the latest installment in the “God’s Not Dead” film series, a story made for this moment in history.

He says the new film is a bit like the Jimmy Stewart classic “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” updated for the modern age, when belief in God is not publicly proclaimed and Religious Freedom is faltering in the face of a conscious political agenda.

The film recounts a speech Ronald Reagan gave before the Worldwide Prayer Breakfast in Dallas, Texas, 40 years ago.

Faith leader says parents should ‘not rely on the world to teach their kids about God’

At that ceremony he said, “Without God there is no virtue, because there is no inspiration of conscience.”

and “Without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure.”

The film stars David A.R. White, Ray Wise, Dean Cain, Charlene Tilton, Scott Baio, and others. Huckabee plays himself The main character in the film is a guest on his talk show.

in a recent episode “Lighthouse Faith” PodcastHe joked that he had his Oscar speech prepared.

Huckabee said, “You know, I’m best supporting actor for a role that no one will remember!”

But in all seriousness, he said it’s a powerful film that “couldn’t be more timely.”

Huckabee said Christians are being stigmatized and punished for not keeping their faith a private matter.

It is about a congressional election campaign between a professional politician and a Christian minister who is suddenly thrust into a political battle when he is called upon as the opposition candidate in a special election to be held four weeks later.

It directly attacks the issues of faith, religious freedom and accusations of Christian nationalism in the public sphere. They have today become the fuel for bitter debate and cultural confrontation.

Huckabee said Christians are being stigmatized and punished for not keeping their faith a private matter, and are being accused of imposing their values on the rest of the country.

But, Huckabee said, “When somebody says these people want to impose their values, I want to say: Doesn’t the left want to impose its values? Yes.”

He added, “Politics is ultimately about winning elections so that your policies, the things you hold dear, become part of the culture and the government. But I don’t think it’s a faith component. It’s a moral component that a lot of Christians want — so that an eight-year-old doesn’t go near pornography in his school.”

Bestselling Christian author Lisa Bevere knows what Huckabee speaks of. A few years ago, she fought her 14-year-old son against son’s school Regarding the compulsory study material given by the English teacher, he said that it was not appropriate.

The purpose of this film is more than just encouraging Christians to get involved in their communities.

Bevere explained in an episode of the “Lighthouse Faith” podcast that in the book, “they were talking about pornography and masturbation. And I was thinking, what the — ? What does this have to do with English literature?”

Missouri Jesuit says Jesus shows the ‘big picture’ when it comes to following God’s rules

Bevere posted excerpts from the book on his social media page, sparking outrage among hundreds of parents who demanded that the book be removed from school curriculums – and that is what happened.

However, the purpose of this film is much more than just encouraging people. Christians must get involved in their communities.

It is also a call to action to inspire the millions of people who stayed out of voting in the last election to make their voices heard not just at the box office, but at the ballot box on November 5th.

Huckabee said, “It’s a reminder that 40 million Christians in America didn’t vote in the last presidential election. Forty million … but a lot of them think it doesn’t really matter. ‘My vote is insignificant.’ Well, that’s not true.”

Huckabee, who is also a Fox News Channel contributor, is a staunch supporter. Donald Trump Supporter. Why?

“I like their transparency. There’s no deceit about them.”

And now, after a second attempt to assassinate Trump, Huckabee is taking aim at the rhetoric of the left.

He told Fox News, “One would think Democrats would stop calling him a ‘threat to democracy,’ which only incites violent and threatening behavior. But instead, there is no shame in the constant discussion from the White House to media hosts about blaming Trump for his own murders.”

“He doesn’t want the government telling us what we can think, what we can preach, what we can say, what we can pray.”

“This is extremely disrespectful,” he said.

An ordained pastor, Huckabee knows he and other evangelicals have faced a lot of criticism for supporting Trump. Eighty percent of white evangelicals voted for Trump in 2016.

It was Huckabee who assembled nearly 1,200 pastors to meet with Trump before the presidential election in an attempt to convince them to support him.

He said that what he said is still true today.

Huckabee said, “I don’t claim that Trump is one of us as an evangelical. I don’t… And my introduction (to pastors) was: ‘Look, Donald Trump is not one of us. He’s probably not going to sit in the front row of your church this Sunday… so let’s not fool ourselves.'”

But Huckabee said Trump’s positives outweigh the negatives.

“He has respect for us (evangelicals), and he doesn’t want the government to tell us what we can think, what we can preach, what we can say, what we can pray. That’s all I want from the government.”

Huckabee also said that Trump the most pro-life presidential candidate.

However, in this campaign cycle, Trump has been criticized by some pro-life leaders for changing his position on the issue, and has even been accused of abandoning the pro-life cause.

At this year’s Republican National Convention, the platform committee voted to remove the right-to-life plank, resulting in Family Research Council President Tony Perkins issuing a minority report against the RNC platform.

Other leaders, such as Retired US Navy Officer Quinn Skinner, who now works for a pregnancy support organization, lamented in an article that “there is no national political party that advocates the sanctity of life.”

Still, Huckabee said, Trump’s presence on the global stage is exactly what the U.S. needs now.

Huckabee’s support for Israel is partly biblical and partly political.

“His stance on Israel has been the most remarkable of any American president. That’s it. So issues that are not negotiable to me are easier to support.”

Huckabee had planned to visit Israel this month. He has been traveling to Israel since 1973. jewish state He said he went there about 100 times, sometimes alone and sometimes with a group. He was there after the Hamas attack on October 7 last year.

“I was having lunch at a restaurant in Tel Aviv when the siren started going off. So, we had to go to the bomb shelter. And when we got there, we heard that the Iron Dome intercepted a rocket right above our heads.”

As a geopolitical example, he imagined a scenario closer to home, saying, “If someone came across the border into Buffalo, New York, or El Paso, Texas, and murdered 1,200 people, including putting children into furnaces, cutting out the wombs of pregnant women in front of their children, violently raping women in front of their families — do you think Americans would say, ‘I just hope we can get a ceasefire?’”

Instead, Huckabee said, “We want to completely destroy the force that was behind this. So I think Israel has been much more restrained than the United States would have been in a similar situation.”

However, there is also a Biblical reason for supporting Israel.

Huckabee said, “I look at Genesis 12: ‘Those who bless Israel will be blessed. Those who curse Israel will be cursed.’ See, I’m a simple person. When I read it that way, I say I’d rather be blessed than cursed. I’d stand with Israel.”
