The controversy started when Telangana Forest and Environment Minister Konda Surekha accused BRS leader KTR of attending drug-related parties and claimed that he was responsible for the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
In a public press conference, Konda Surekha indicated that politician KT Rama Rao (KTR) had made a deal with actor Nagarjuna, involving Samantha Ruth Prabhu, to stop the demolition of the N-Convention Centre. She claimed that when Samantha refused to comply, it led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. Surekha also alleged that Nagarjuna pressured Samantha, but she refused.

Veteran actor Nagarjuna, who is also Naga Chaitanya’s father, condemned Konda Surekha’s comments, terming the allegations as false. He urged them to respect the privacy of individuals and avoid making baseless claims.

Meanwhile, BRS leaders KTR and Nagarjuna Akkineni filed a complaint against Telangana Environment Minister Konda Surekha’s “derogatory (and) derogatory” comments.
