Commission’s response and current status
Following widespread outrage, the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) is under intense scrutiny. The Commission released the answer keys for the exam, but the final result has been delayed due to the ongoing allegations. JSSC has responded by giving candidates an opportunity to present evidence in support of their claims.
On October 6, 2024, the Commission invited the complainants and asked them to appear at the JSSC office in Ranchi with concrete evidence. JSSC Secretary Sudhir Gupta stressed that investigation into the alleged irregularities is ongoing. Specifically, the Commission has requested that the complainants provide original evidence, such as CDs, pen drives and photographs – which document the allegedly leaked material. However, earlier submissions have been found blank or incomplete, delaying the scrutiny process.
A letter from JSSC said, “The complainants have been asked to submit the evidence of the complaints related to irregularities in the examination and the source thereof along with an affidavit to the Commission by October 7. If this is not done, the Commission will take action.” ” “Final decision based on current evidence.”
The notice clarifies that no affidavit has yet been submitted regarding the authenticity of the photographs and videos seen in the pen drive provided, and the investigation is incomplete due to lack of sufficient evidence.
Increasing pressure on the state government

As the controversy deepens, it remains uncertain what action the JSSC or the state government will take. The Commission has given time till October 7 to the complainants to provide concrete evidence of irregularities. If sufficient evidence of the alleged paper leak is presented, it could lead to cancellation of the exam, as demanded by thousands of candidates. On the other hand, if no such evidence is found, the result can be expected to be declared amid unrest among the student community.
