Mithun Chakraborty, an Indian actor, producer and politician, works predominantly in Hindi and Bengali cinema and has received three National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. He is being honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 70th National Film Awards. It is considered a prestigious honorable award of India. All about Dadasaheb Phalke Award
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is recognized as India’s highest honor in the cinema industry, presented annually by the Directorate of Film Festivals at the National Film Awards ceremony. The inaugural recipient of the award was presented to Devika Rani during the 17th National Film Awards in 1969.
The award honors individuals for their outstanding contribution to the development of Indian cinema. The award consists of a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl and a cash prize of ₹10 lakh.
