Criticism of Biden’s ‘old’ appearance and ‘weak’ voice during first presidential debate: ‘Extremely worrying’

“If we want to beat Donald Trump in November, I think so,” he added. “And I think Biden’s team saw this coming. I think that’s why they pushed for the debate earlier, so that they could have time to change their stance if they needed to.”

Haines urged those close to Biden to have the “very difficult conversation” that he should step down.

“Democrats need to stop hyping the age issue,” Haynes said.

She said, “81-year-old Joy Behar is not 81-year-old Joe Biden, and that was on full display last night. But let me be clear, if November comes and President Biden and President Trump are on the ticket, I will 100% vote for President Biden, because the alternative is very scary to me, but I’m afraid a lot of people in this country don’t think that way.”

Co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who has worked for the Trump administration but has now become a vocal critic of her former boss, said she was “stunned” watching the debate.

Hostin acknowledged that Biden “lost that debate.”

“Maybe he should go,” he said, as did several of Biden’s aides. in the media I have already said it.

“Maybe he needs to be honest with himself and with the American people,” he said. “He can step down with grace and dignity at this point. He has a record he can be proud of.”

Hostin and Griffin called on Biden to step down, but they said they still hate Trump and called him a “racist” and a threat to democracy. Hostin believes both parties should consider replacing the top of their tickets, but co-host Ana Navarro, who is a token Republican on the show and supports Democrats, wasn’t ready to pull the plug.

“I love Joe Biden and I’ve known Joe Biden for over 20 years, I’ve never seen Joe Biden like I saw him last night. It’s worrisome, but … until Joe Biden tells me he’s conceding, I’m not going to give up on Joe Biden,” Navarro said.

“Yesterday he looked old, sounded old, he is old, but the election is no different, it’s very old versus very bad guy,” Navarro said. “I’m not going to judge Joe Biden based on 90 bad minutes.”

Griffin disagreed, saying it’s “too big a risk” for Democrats to stick with Biden.

Joy Behar insisted Biden looked better earlier in the evening when he addressed supporters at a watch party and reflected on what went wrong on the debate stage.
