President Biden’s His campaign sent out a new memo Wednesday in an effort to assuage concerns about his reelection chances following strong criticism of his performance in last week’s debate.

The memo obtained by Fox News highlights internal campaign surveys that show the race is still tight. Former President Trump.

“Today we will be looking at some surveys and we want all of you to hear from us what we know internally and what we expect to come out externally,” the memo reads. “Surveys are just a snapshot in time and we should expect them to continue to fluctuate — it will take weeks, not days, to get a full picture of the race.”

The memo, signed by campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon and campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, showed internal battleground state polling before and after the debate, revealing that Biden’s performance dropped by half a percentage point during that period.

The memo pointed to a possible upcoming New York Times/Siena College poll, “which is likely to show little major change in the race.”

“We should all keep in mind that just last week, The New York Times itself admitted that it often makes exceptions in its surveys,” the memo reads.

Biden, who at 81 is the oldest president in the country’s history, is facing the toughest phase of his bid for a second term in the White House after his stilted speech and faltering answers. In the debateThere was widespread uproar in the Democratic Party, and political pundits, editorial writers, and some party donors called on Biden to step down as the party’s 2024 flag-bearer.

Additionally, in the past 24 hours, a small but growing number of Democrats in the House have also urged the president to end his reelection bid.

However, Biden’s campaign has repeatedly stressed that the president has no intention of dropping out of the race.

“The president is in this race to win it,” lead deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks said in an interview with CNN on Wednesday.

Two national opinion polls released Tuesday after the debate showed red flags in Biden’s favor.

According to a CNN poll, 75% of voters and 56% of Democratic-affiliated voters said the Democratic Party would have a better chance of retaining control of the presidency if Biden was replaced as the party’s flagbearer.

The survey suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris The Republican Party’s presumptive nominee performs slightly better than Biden in a hypothetical matchup with Trump.

Biden will advance the campaign in collaboration with Democratic governors

Trump holds a six-point lead over Biden among registered voters nationwide — 49%-43% — unchanged from CNN’s last poll in April. That’s in line with Trump’s lead. CNN Polling It’s been going on since last autumn.

However, the vice president trails Trump by just two points — 47%-45% — in a hypothetical contest, according to the poll.

The last USA Today/Suffolk University poll, conducted in May, had the Democratic current president and his Republican predecessor in the White House at 37%.

While Trump’s lead in the new poll was within the survey’s error range of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, there were other warning signs for Biden.

41 percent of Democrats surveyed said they want Biden to be replaced as the top candidate on the Democratic ticket.

Only 14% of Republicans surveyed said they would like to see someone other than Trump on the Republican ticket.

“There’s no doubt that this debate has caused a stir across the political spectrum,” said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk Political Research Center. “Polling shows Democrats giving President Biden tough love, saying, ‘You’ve served us well, but try to see yourself through our eyes last Thursday night. Hold your head high, it’s time to go.'”

The publication of the memo, which was first reported by Politico, comes hours before Biden is scheduled to meet with Democratic governors and congressional leaders.

This meeting took place after the results of the debate called by Democratic governors on a conference call on Monday.

Monday’s call was organized by Governor Tim Walz, chairman of the Minnesota Democratic Governors Association. Sources told Fox News that the Biden campaign was aware of the call in advance.

Several governors, some of whom were being considered as possible replacements given the high likelihood of Biden withdrawing from his re-election campaign, have acknowledged that the president’s performance in the debate was weak but remain committed to supporting the president.
