Cedar Point theme park introduces record-breaking ‘Tilt’ roller coaster for 2025


A new, record-breaking roller coaster will open at Cedar Point in 2025, officials at the Sandusky, Ohio-based park announced today.

“Siren’s Curse is the tallest, fastest and longest tilt coaster in North America,” Cedar Point communications director Tony Clark told Fox News Digital in an on-camera interview.

Passengers aboard the Siren Curse will “soar 160 feet into the air” before they encounter what Clark calls the roller coaster’s “distinctive moves.”

“Your train will go over a piece of track that will suddenly break and bend at 90 degrees,” he said.

“The riders will be looking straight down. And then once everything locks into place, it will release you, and then you can ride the rest of the way,” he said.

“It’s going to be an amazing experience,” Clark said, adding that the coaster will reach speeds of up to 58 mph.

The curse of the sirens is one of two Roller Coaster Clark said another project with this “tilt” mechanism is being built in North America. A third project is under construction in Texas.

“Cedar Point is known for Roller coaster innovation “This is the biggest change in its history,” Clark said.

He added, “And so we were the first to bring in a number of big coasters that hadn’t been seen before. This is one of those that wasn’t in our lineup.”

Clark said the tilt mechanism is “very different from other roller coasters we have.”

“We wanted to add something diverse and different to our lineup,” he said. “And Siren’s Curse is exactly that.”

And though the coaster looks scary, Clark says it never poses any real danger to riders.

“The whole purpose of a thrill ride is really to give you a thrill. That’s the main thing. And there’s always a sense of danger, but the danger, though, is only in your mind because the manufacturer does a lot of testing,” he said, adding that Cedar Point also does its own testing on the rides.

Clark said this mechanism would “lock” the train to the track.

He said, “And then once it is locked, this tilting table will open and rotate 90 degrees.”

“That’s why there are so many safety precautions built into the ride’s safety systems. If even one little thing doesn’t work, it’s a ‘check engine’ light and the ride doesn’t run.”

Stoff said that prior to learning about Siren’s Curse, he believed Top Thrill 2 would be “marketed as a new ride at Cedar Point in 2025”.

“Cedar Point surprised us with the grand announcement of their new record-breaking tilt coaster for 2025,” Stoff said. Charlotte, North Carolina.

He added, “Siren’s Curse will be a great addition to Cedar Point’s already impressive lineup of roller coasters.”

Stoff predicts that next year will be “epic” for Cedar Point, especially because top adventures 2 The ride is scheduled to reopen after being closed due to problems with its vehicles.

In addition to the tilting mechanism, Siren Curse’s trains will also feature on-board audio and LED lights — other firsts for the park.

Clark said these features will help enhance the ride’s story, which tells the tale of a “Lake Erie Monster” who comes to take over the ride.

“You’ll hear that audio throughout the entire experience,” he said. “We’re excited to have this happen for the first time at Cedar Point.”
