The agreement’s deadline comes just days after the university authorized police to clear the encampment on Thursday, leading to more than 100 arrests.
“I also want to make it clear that we will not tolerate bullying, harassment or discriminatory behavior,” Shafiq wrote in his message Tuesday night. “We are working to identify the protesters who violated our policies against discrimination and harassment, and they will have to go through the appropriate disciplinary processes.”
Shafik continued, “The right to protest is necessary and protected in Colombia, but harassment and discrimination are contrary to our values and an affront to our commitment to being a community of mutual respect and kindness.”
