DC vs CSK, IPL 2024: Playing XI and impact sub of both teams

Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 13th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, March 31. Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, the Capitals will be looking to bounce back after losing both their matches so far in IPL 2024. DC started their IPL 2024 campaign with a four-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS). They later lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 12 runs in their last match.

Having yet to open their account, the Capitals are placed eighth in the IPL 2024 standings.

On the other hand, defending champions CSK have made a great start to the new season by winning both their matches under the leadership of new captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets and followed it up with a comprehensive 63-run win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last match.

Ahead of another exciting encounter in IPL 2024, we take a look at the predicted XIs of both the sides.

DC probable XI

david warner

Australia’s David Warner has been the best batsman for DC in his first two matches. The southpaw batsman has scored 78 runs in two matches at an average of 39 and a strike rate of 141.81. Their aim against CSK will be to convert their starts into big scores.

Michelle Marsh

Like Warner, his opening partner Mitchell Marsh has also got a good start, but has failed to take advantage of it in the first two matches. The right-handed batsman has scored 43 runs at an excellent strike rate of 179.16. He will try to give another explosive start in Visakhapatnam.

Ricky Bhui

Despite failing to impress so far in IPL 2024, Indian top-order batsman Ricky Bhui may be given another chance. Bhui has recorded disappointing scores of 3 and 0 in the first two matches of this season. If he wants to cement his place in DC’s playing eleven, he will have to take advantage of the opportunity.

Akshar Patel

Indian star all-rounder Axar Patel has contributed with both bat and ball in the first two matches for DC. Akshar has been economical with his left-arm spin, and has also scored some valuable runs lower down the order. If DC has to register victory over CSK, he will play an important role.

Sumit Kumar

Bowling all-rounder Sumit Kumar has had a somewhat disappointing performance so far for the Capitals. The Gurgaon-born cricketer will have to bring his A-game against the defending champions.

-Kuldeep Yadav

India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been the standout bowler for DC in their first two matches. The left-arm wrist spinner has taken three wickets in two matches at an average of 20.33 and an economy of 7.62. He can be the main destroyer for the Capitals in Vizag.

Enrique Nortje

DC fast bowler Anrich Nortje proved costly against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Despite taking the wicket of Dhruv Jurel, Nortje conceded 48 runs in his quota of four overs. The Proteas pacer will aim to bounce back against CSK on Sunday.

Khalil Ahmed

Khalil Ahmed has provided some important breakthroughs for the Capitals in their opening two matches. The left-arm fast bowler has taken three wickets in two matches at an economy of 8.37. He will try to take some early wickets to put pressure on CSK’s batting order.

Mukesh Kumar

India international Mukesh Kumar replaced injured Ishant Sharma in DC’s playing eleven. The right-arm fast bowler gave away 49 runs in his four overs against RR. Before this he took the big wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Mukesh will have to take a tough stand against CSK.
