McMurray faced criticism on social media for his “Die MAGA die” comment, including from those who said it appeared he was hoping for the death of voters from the MAGA movement. Others said they reported McMurray to X for inciting violence.

McMurray posted a follow-up message on Saturday directed at Trump supporters, saying the MAGA movement should “end”, “fade” or “disband”.

House takes key test vote for Johnson’s $95B foreign aid plan after Dems helped push it

“Dear MAGA: Send your congratulations to MAGA Mike, not me. He also likes freedom and Ukraine. You see, even your leaders are actually your sick, twisted anti-freedom, anti-American MAGA Don’t like the movement. Let me see, what word should I use? Or maybe something strong that starts with ‘D’?” McMurray continued in another post on Saturday.

Fox News Digital reached out to McMurray’s campaign Sunday morning, and also sent a message to the congressional candidate on social media, but did not immediately receive additional comment on the post and its subsequent criticisms.

Tension rises in House as Conservatives oppose Johnson over $95 billion foreign aid plan

McMurray is currently facing a lawsuit from a Democratic House contestants, state Senator Tim Kennedy, who last week asked a state court to remove McMurray’s name from the Democratic primary ballot. The state senator’s lawsuit claims that more than 1,000 signatures collected for McMurray’s election petition are invalid either due to “fraudulent” circumstances or were collected by an unqualified canvasser. The 26th district was previously represented by Democrat Brian Higgins, who officially stepped down in February. A special election will be held on April 30 to replace Higgins for the remaining months of his term.
