Trump also said he was “very honored” to be joined at the rally by eight family members of service members who were killed in Biden’s “disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

“They’re all looking down at this moment and they’re so proud of you, the parents, the sisters and brothers. There are so many of them here,” he told the families.

“We have a man who is a warrior, a great military man, an incredible person, and we have to elect him as the U.S. senator from your state,” Trump said of McCormick.

McCormick told the crowd, “As a father of six daughters, it breaks my heart to hear about these young women who are raped and murdered by illegal immigrants. Rachel’s story is heartbreaking. As a Pennsylvania native, it breaks my heart to know that 60% of Pennsylvanians are living paycheck to paycheck.”

He said, “We need a new President in the White House who can get our country back on track.”

Trump’s Philadelphia rally took place just days before his first debate. President Biden next Thursday, and after rallies in other staunchly Democratic areas like the Bronx, the Jersey Shore and Detroit.

Winning the swing state in November is crucial for both Trump and Biden. Trump won the state by a narrow margin in 2016, but Biden overtook him in 2020.

He received his loudest applause when he spoke on illegal immigration, vowing to launch “the largest deportation campaign in American history” on his first day in office.

Supporters began gathering at the Liacouras Center even before Trump arrived in Philadelphia, waving American flags, Trump apparel and carrying “Make America Great Again” signs.

On his way to the rally, Trump stopped at local Philadelphia sandwich shop Tony & Nick’s Steaks to greet customers and employees.

Former New Jersey Senate candidate Mike Crispi said on XTV that Trump left a $500 tip for staff on his sandwiches, and reiterated that he would eliminate taxes on tips if elected.
