The president of the Log Cabin Republicans told Fox News Digital that gay Trump voters are breaking the Democratic Party’s “lie” that the LGBT community only votes blue.

,Donald Trump is offering Everybody should have an equal opportunity on a fair playing field. And that’s what it comes down to at the end of the day. LGBT voters don’t need to be pandered to. We don’t need to be marginalized. We just need to be given the same opportunity as everybody else for success, freedom and independence,” Charles Moran, chairman of the Log Cabin Republicans, told Fox News Digital in a Zoom interview earlier this week.

“Donald Trump is the only candidate who is doing this,” he added. “There is no notion that we are inferior or in a lesser position.”

The Log Cabin Republicans is the nation’s oldest and largest organization of LGBT Republicans, with more than 10,000 members nationwide, including 80 chapters in 40 states, Moran said. Although the group’s base is centered on centrist and center-right gay voters, the Log Cabin Republicans also have strong support from suburban women and young people.

Melania Trump returns to campaign trail by attending pro-LGBT Republican event: report

Trump has made great strides in wooing the gay community in his previous campaigns, so Moran expects the number of gay voters supporting the GOP to increase again this year. In 2016, Trump only got 14% of the gay vote, but he doubled that figure to 28% in 2020.

“This is a year in which we can definitely increase LGBT numbers, and I would aim to get as close to 50% as possible. And the most important thing here is that it breaks the stereotype that if you’re gay you must be a Democrat. We know that’s not true, because the left and the mainstream media want to push this lie. It’s just not true. About a third of LGBT voters in the last election said they were gay.” The election voted in favor of Republicans“It’s either President Trump or congressional Republicans,” he said.

The Trump campaign told Fox News Digital that Trump’s commitment to curbing inflation and tackling rising crime rates would benefit all Americans if he is re-elected.

Trump campaign national press secretary Carolyn Levitt said, “By reducing inflation and the rising cost of living, cutting taxes, and restoring law and order in our communities, President Trump’s second term agenda will build a safer and more prosperous America for all Americans, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or creed!”

Moran said members of the LGBTQ community have become frustrated with the Democratic Party’s “virtue signaling” and “sycophancy” amid efforts to gain a greater share of the gay vote.

“I think one of the biggest things we’ve seen in 2024 is that the era of virtue signaling and flattery is going to end very quickly. You saw corporations rein in and cut back on some of the over-the-top virtue signaling during Pride Month, because in 2023 they were called out for it, mocked and shamed for that inauthenticity. I don’t think any of those corporate CEOs want to go back to that position in 2024. So I’m in a really strong position right now to tell Republicans: Just be authentic with it, because the Biden administration is taking on an increasing role of flattery and virtue signaling,” Moran said.

He pointed to the White House’s Pride Month event last year, when a trans activist demonstrated topless on the South Lawn, as well as the White House flying a flag of progress, which he called a “substandard version of the traditional rainbow flag,” with American flags on either side of it last year. The White House quickly condemned the trans activist for the nudity stunt, as footage of the South Lawn scene went viral.

“It’s become a joke,” he said of the recent “flattery” in the White House.

“Being gay under Joe Biden is worse internationally. The lives of our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and other parts of the world, in Africa and the Caribbean and some places in Southeast Asia, are now worse and more dangerous than they were under Donald J. Trump.”

When asked whether Biden or Trump has better policies for the gay community, Moran answered without hesitation, “Trump.” He said Trump is “the first president elected in history who from day one supported LGBT marriage, marriage equality,” that the 45th president has made it easier to be a gay voter in the Republican Party, that gay people around the world are at less risk of harm and discrimination under the Trump administration because of his foreign policies, and that the 45th president leaves flattery at the door in favor of authentic messaging.

“LGBT voters have gotten to the point now where they’re mature enough and they’re sophisticated enough to say, like, ‘Hey, it’s not so much: Do you support marriage equality or some of these other LGBT rights issues?’ It’s, ‘Are you … creating the conditions for me as an elected official to be able to survive, to thrive, to raise my family, to run my business?’ And every single answer that keeps coming back is ‘No’ from these Democrats,” He said.

“At some point, you can’t put rainbow lipstick on a pig here. And that’s exactly what Democrats are trying to do through flattery and virtue signaling.”

Moran said Biden has made the situation for gay rights even worse on the world stage because of his weak foreign policies.

“Under the Biden administration, it’s actually gotten worse, because there’s a lack of a strong foreign policy presence, and the US is not willing to stand up for its morals and values on the international stage. It’s actually gotten worse. What they’ve done to empower Iran, releasing $10 billion and considering doing it again, certainly has an impact on our world, where they’re routinely killing gays for their identity,” he said.

He further said, “Being gay under Joe Biden is a worse situation internationally. The lives of our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and other parts of the world, in Africa and the Caribbean and in some places in Southeast Asia, are now worse and more dangerous than they were under Donald J. Trump.”

Biden-Harris 2024 spokesperson Kevin Munoz told Fox News Digital on Wednesday that “there couldn’t be more at stake for LGBTQ+ Americans in this election: Donald Trump and his extremist allies are making it their top priority to dismantle LGBTQ+ rights and erase history.”

Muñoz added, “LGBTQ+ Americans deserve leaders who will fight for the freedom and dignity of every American. That’s what President Biden and Vice President Harris have done during their time in office and that’s what they will do if they’re re-elected, including by pressuring Congress to pass the Equality Act. There’s never been a more important time to protect the rights of all Americans, no matter who you love or how you identify, and (President Biden is running) to not only protect, but to strengthen the rights and voice of every single American.”

News broke this week that former first lady Melania Trump will attend her second campaign fundraiser with the Log Cabin Republicans this summer and her fourth fundraiser with them. Moran said Melania Trump is “an amazing ally” and communicator who spreads a message of “unity.”

“She really knows that inclusivity wins and that unity is one of the most important things we have in this country. And that’s the tone she’s set with a lot of coalitions this year in terms of bringing Americans together. And we know that under Joe Biden’s leadership, He argued, “It doesn’t matter if you’re gay or straight, if you’re Black or white, or if you’re Asian, if you’re Christian, if you’re Jewish or Muslim, life for you now under Joe Biden and his failed leadership is worse than it was under Donald Trump. And that’s something we can all unite around.”

“You don’t have to agree with us on all of our public policy points, but if you agree that we have a place in the party, or that America is a place where LGBT people should have the same rights and responsibilities as every other person, then we can work with you on that. And that’s what we’re going to have to do to get a lasting, durable majority in the Republican Party.”
