Former neighbors of the suspect Georgia High School The shooter shared a glimpse of the family’s messy home.

Fox News Digital spoke to neighbors of 14-year-old Colt Gray in Statham, Georgia. Statham is a small town of about 2,000 residents where the suspected shooter’s family lived until they sold the home in September 2019.

The current owners of Gray’s former home, who spoke anonymously with Fox News Digital, said the home, located on nearly 8 acres of land, was in a state of disrepair when they purchased it in 2019.

Current neighbor said Maury Gray warned his family and their real estate agents Collin’s volatile moods The day of the move.

“The day we were doing the house deal, I was standing with my wife and our relator and Maury came up to us and told us not to make eye contact with Colin, they call him Collie,” the neighbor said. “Maury said he was in a mood and didn’t know what he was going to do.”

“But when he came in, he was as drunk as could be,” he said. “Red, glassy eyes. He didn’t bother anybody, but didn’t really talk either.”

The neighbor said that all of the kids, including Colt, were “left alone” during the home visitation process.

“There wasn’t much oversight,” he said.

Neighbors showed Fox News Digital a photo of the Gray family measuring Colt’s growth before his parents’ divorce.

The growth chart shows Colt Grey’s progress over the past few years, which the family made notes on in 2017-2019.

Other neighbors also confirmed stories of Colin Gray’s unstable mood, with one elderly neighbor sharing a heartbreaking story of his brief interaction with Marcy Gray.

“It was daytime, but I was home alone and I saw her (Marci) running down our driveway,” the elderly neighbor said. “And she had a baby in her hands, and she ran back toward our barn and tried to get in. And all of a sudden, I saw her husband get in a truck and start running toward our barn building.”

“Marci tried to get into the barn building, but it was locked, and when I saw him (Colin) running toward her, I came outside and yelled, ‘What’s going on here?’ and he looked up and turned and ran away real fast.”

“When she left the building, I told her, ‘I’m here if you need me,’” the neighbor said. “And she thanked me and I never saw her again.”

The next day, the elderly neighbor found an unexpected note on her door.

“It said, ‘Thank you. You saved my life.'” she said. “And it was signed, Marcy.”

Another neighbor reported that Colt was an unusually “intelligent and funny” child.

,We saw the Colt And his brother, only two at the time, rode our horse,” the neighbor said. “He must have been 7 or maybe 8 at the time. And really smart and funny. Really sweet kid.”

After selling their home in Statham, Georgia, the Gray family went through upheaval, with the three children separated due to their parents’ divorce. Colt went to live with his father, while the two younger siblings initially lived with their mother.

After the divorce, Colleen and Colt Gray rented two houses in Jefferson, Georgia until they moved to Winder, Georgia. The house in Winder, Georgia was where Colt and Colleen were living when the heartbreaking incident occurred. Apalachee High School shooting,

Four people were killed and nine injured in the shooting on Wednesday, September 4. The two students killed in the shooting were identified as Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14. Math teachers Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irimi were also killed, authorities said.

The first news of firing was received at 9:30 amOn Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office received an alert at 10:20 a.m. of a report of an active shooter.

GBI Director Chris Hosey said law enforcement was on the scene “within minutes.”

“Law enforcement responded very quickly to this incident,” Hosey previously said.

The 14-year-old is being tried as an adult and charged with four counts of murder. He is accused of using a semiautomatic AR-style rifle in the shooting.

“You don’t have to be physically injured to be a victim,” District Attorney Brad Smith told reporters Friday. “Everyone in this community was a victim. Every kid in that school was a victim.”
