Pennsylvania, Together, Michigan and Wisconsin form the Democrats’ so-called “Blue Wall,” which the party won reliably in presidential elections for a quarter-century until Trump swept all three states in his 2016 White House win. But Biden won all three states again — by much slimmer margins — four years ago.

Both Harris and Trump have made repeated stops and campaigns in Pennsylvania this summer. And while the campaigns and their allied super PACs are pouring resources into all seven swing states, more money has been spent in Pennsylvania than in any other battleground state. And both sides have spent more dollars to reserve airtime going forward in the Keystone State than in any other swing states, according to data from AdImpact, a top national ad tracking firm.

The survey’s publication comes hours before Harris returns to Pennsylvania — considered a must-win state for the Democratic presidential nominee — where she will deliver what her campaign is calling a major speech on the economy.

This presidential candidate has the upper hand in the 2024 cash dash

The vice president is expected to make her most substantive comments on the economy in her address to the Economic Club of Pittsburgh since she replaced Biden on Democrats’ list of 2024 running mates just two months ago.

A senior Harris campaign official said the vice president would highlight her “pragmatic” approach to the economy and offer “practical, realistic solutions.”

The official said Harris — whom Trump has derided as “Comrade Kamala” — would describe herself as “a capitalist” who “understands the limitations of government and tries to take good ideas wherever they come from and harness the power of innovation.”

His address comes a day after the former president delivered a speech in battleground Georgia, which was also considered a major economic speech, in which he vowed to reduce taxes on US-based manufacturers.

With less than six weeks until Election Day on Nov. 5 and nearly two dozen states already having in-person or absentee voting underway, nearly every poll indicates that turnout is likely to be 10%. economy This remains a top issue on Americans’ minds.

This is when the country’s economic recovery from the pandemic-induced recession continues, but Inflation remains A major concern among voters.

Which presidential candidate has the edge on the economy?

When it comes to which presidential candidate can better handle the economy, Trump has the upper hand — but his lead over Harris is dramatic, depending on the survey.

The former president was 13 points ahead of the vice president in a post-debate poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College, and a 7-point lead in a post-debate poll also conducted by ABC News Ipsos.

But the latest Fox News poll shows Trump’s lead over Harris on the economy is only 5 points, and the AP/NORC poll shows it is only 2 points.

In Pennsylvania, a new Monmouth University poll shows Trump holds a three-point lead over Harris when respondents were asked which candidate is more trustworthy to handle the economy.

The senior official said Harris would argue that “for Donald Trump, our economy works best if it works for the people who own the big skyscrapers. Not the people who build them. Not the people who wire them. Not the people who clean the floors.”

And she will repeat her charge that Trump “has no intention of growing the middle class because he only cares about helping himself and billionaires like him.”

Trump has repeatedly accused Harris of ineffective and potentially dangerous plans for the economy.

The Trump campaign has argued that, “If you think four years of Harris-Biden was bad, it’s nothing compared to four years of Harris-Walz.”
