HyperX Ciro Buds Pro TWS earbuds review: Solid gaming earbuds for your everyday use

Rating– 3.5/5
Most gamers prefer minimal audio delay or latency for a seamless gaming experience. Since a large number of offerings in the market often struggle to meet these low-latency demands, professional gamers and streamers prefer wired headphones due to their reliability and inclusion of a dedicated microphone for clear communication.
The wireless TWS (true wireless stereo) earbuds market is highly competitive, making it difficult for new entrants to stand out with unique features.
HyperX The company is known for its gaming accessories, which include standalone microphones, gaming mouse, and keyboards, as well as both wired and wireless gaming headsets. The company is also launching its latest gaming TWS, Siro Buds Prowhich is being sold through HP Store Its price is Rs 5,456.

These earbuds are primarily targeted at mobile gamers who want to ditch bulky headsets in favour of compact wearables. But do they really offer an “isolated gaming experience”? Can they also be a good option as normal everyday earbuds?
We have been using it HyperX Ciro Buds Pro TWS earbuds have been the talk of the town for quite some time now. Here is our review that tells you whether the features, sound quality, and design of these audio wearables appeal to gamers as well as casual listeners.

design

The HyperX Siro Buds Pro earphones take a restrained approach in terms of design, staying away from typical “gamer” aesthetics like flashy colors, shiny plastic, and aggressive lettering. Instead, these earbuds sport a look that’s sleek and calm, making them versatile for a variety of settings.
The Siro Buds Pro earphones have a round plug shape that enables them to fit comfortably inside the ear. The build quality is solid with a matte black finish that highlights the gloss-grey HyperX logo. While using the earbuds, we did not feel any discomfort like pinching, excess pressure, or looseness, indicating the need for a different ear tip size. Talking about the ear tips, the earbuds come in three sizes, allowing for a customisable fit as per the user’s needs.

Proper fit is important as it can affect sound performance, isolation, and overall comfort. The earbuds weigh 8 grams, and they are easy to wear and generally stay in place well. We found them to be comfortable enough to wear for up to three hours at a stretch, however, we did start to feel a little uncomfortable when wearing them for longer periods. The IPX4 moisture rating is a bonus, making these earbuds suitable for workouts. The color of the inner plastic also matches the earbuds.
The charging case also follows the functional and minimalist approach of the earbuds. It is flat on the top and bottom, which prevents it from sliding off surfaces. A bright LED indicator on the front shows the charging status along with a large Bluetooth pairing button in the middle, making it easy to connect to a device. The USB-C charging port is placed on the back of the case.
It is also important to note that these earbuds can only connect to PC and mobile devices, not consoles. The charging case is also not bulky and can be easily carried in the pocket.

Performance and connectivity

The HyperX Siro Buds Pro earphones offer a straightforward and user-friendly experience thanks to their built-in controls. Unlike some earbuds that require a companion app for full functionality, all controls are accessible directly on the earbuds themselves, making them easy to use. Here are the control options:
Left earbud:
Single tap: play/pause/answer call
Double tap: Previous track/Reject call/End call
Triple tap: Enable gaming mode
Long press: Activate voice assistant
Right earbud:
Single tap: play/pause/answer call
Double tap: Next track/Reject call/End call
Long press: Toggle ambient mode/ANC
While the controls cannot be customized, they cover the essential functions needed by most users. Meanwhile, other additional controls can be managed via connected devices. Also, the touch response was great and we did not face any issues while using them.

3

The HyperX Siro Buds Pro earphones are easy to connect to the device. Once connected, the earbuds offer solid performance, especially in terms of noise isolation and cancellation.
At its price point, the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is impressive, effectively reducing ambient noise and providing a quiet listening environment. During testing, the ANC performed well even in noisy indoor settings, such as when using a mixer or vacuum cleaner.
The earbuds also feature an ambient mode, which is useful for staying aware of your surroundings when required. However, if you don’t want to use the noise control features, the earbuds still offer good passive isolation with a proper fit.

4

The sound quality on the HyperX Siro Buds Pro is generally balanced and suitable for a wide range of audio content. The earbuds handle vocal audio well, making them a good choice for podcasts and video content.
In gaming scenarios, the Cirro Buds Pro earphones deliver clear dialogue and in-game sounds, making them suitable for casual gaming. Although they lack deep bass for explosive scenes, the overall soundstage remains comfortable for long hours of use. Also, we missed the presence of surround sound on the earbuds
The built-in microphones feature noise cancelling for calls, although the quality is satisfactory and nothing extraordinary. Calls are clear enough, but the audio can sound somewhat flat and metallic. Noise cancelling on the microphone is effective for consistent, low-frequency sounds, but can struggle with more variable ambient noise.

Battery

The HyperX Siro Buds Pro earphones offer a solid battery life, which is ideal for daily use. Our tests achieved a little over 4 hours with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled. This runtime can fluctuate depending on volume levels and ANC usage while the company advertises up to 7 hours with ANC turned off.

5

The charging case provides additional charge, extending the playback time to a total of 35 hours. During our testing, the Cirro Buds Pro provided several times the listening experience before needing to recharge the case.
The case uses a USB-C cable for charging and does not support wireless charging. The case takes about two and a half hours to fully charge.

Decision

The HyperX Siro Buds Pro TWS earphones deliver a solid performance, living up to the expectations set by their price tag. If you’re in the market for earbuds in this price range, these are a good option, especially due to their inclusion of ANC (active noise cancellation). However, they fail to distinguish themselves in the crowded wireless earbud market.
These earbuds cover all the basics well, including a balanced sound profile and practical features, without complicating things with any apps. The fit is comfortable, the design is straightforward and the battery life is good enough for normal daily use.
If you want reliable ANC earbuds under Rs 6,000 that can handle the essentials effectively, the HyperX Cirro Buds Pro are a great option. While they may not completely impress you with their sound quality, they offer quite good sound and reliable performance that makes them worth buying.
