India’s probable XI against South Africa in T20 World Cup 2024 final

Rohit Sharma(Captain)

With over 4000 runs in T20Is and a strike rate of 140.82, Rohit is one of the best openers in the T20 format. After scoring a blistering 92 against Australia, Rohit was again India’s top run scorer against England, scoring 57 runs, including six fours and two sixes.

The explosive opener has scored 248 runs in seven matches in the tournament and holds a key position in the batting order as India’s opener. He will be eager to give his best in the mega-final against South Africa.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has not been in great form in the ongoing World Cup, scoring only 75 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 100. Despite a successful IPL season, Virat has not yet performed well in the T20 World Cup. The final against South Africa will be his last match in which he will make his presence felt and it would be a brave man to bet against him returning to form against the Proteas.

Rishabh Pant(Wicketkeeper)

Rishabh Pant’s return from injury from IPL 2024 has been promising and his aggressive batting and wicketkeeping ability have made him India’s first-choice wicketkeeper right from the start.

Pant has scored 171 runs in seven matches in this tournament at a strike rate of 129.54. He will be desperate to perform brilliantly against South Africa.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav, the world’s number 1 T20 batsman, plays a key role in India’s middle order. His unconventional approach to batting at number 4 makes him difficult for bowlers to stop.

Suryakumar has scored 196 runs in this tournament at a strike rate of 137.06 and Indian fans will be hoping that the explosive batsman will be able to tear apart the South African bowling attack like he has done against many other bowling attacks in the past.

shivam dubey

Shivam Dubey had a stellar IPL 2024, scoring 396 runs at a strike rate of 162.30 for Chennai Super Kings. However, his T20 World Cup campaign with India was not as successful.

Dube has scored only 106 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 106. He can also contribute with the ball and will be eager to do well against South Africa in the final.

hardik pandya

After a mixed IPL season as Mumbai Indians captain, Hardik Pandya has regained some form with the bat and ball, making him a key player as an all-rounder for India in the finals.

Hardik has scored 139 runs at an impressive strike rate of 149.46 and has also taken eight wickets at an economy of 7.77. India will need a great performance from him to defeat South Africa in the final.

ravindra jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round abilities provide depth to India’s playing XI in the ongoing T20 World Cup. However, the star all-rounder hasn’t always been at his best so far.

The left-hander has scored just 33 runs and taken one wicket but played a crucial knock of 17 not out off nine balls against England in the semi-final. His excellent fielding is another aspect of his game that benefits the team, making him quite valuable for the Men in Blue.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel performed brilliantly against England, taking three wickets at an economy of 5.8. He adds depth to India’s batting order and also provides his captain with an additional bowling option who can bowl under pressure situations including the powerplay.

He has taken eight wickets in the ongoing World Cup at an average of 15.50 and an economy of 6.88 and India will be banking on him to beat South Africa in the mega final.

Kuldeep Yadav

Left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav had a stellar season in IPL 2024 and is enjoying the T20 World Cup 2024 to the fullest ever since he joined the squad.

Kuldeep’s wrist spin has taken the World Cup by storm and he has taken 10 wickets in just four matches. His best performance was against England, in which he took three wickets and conceded just 19 runs. He can prove to be a game-changer against South Africa in the upcoming final.

Jasprit Bumrah

With an impressive economy rate of 4.12, Jasprit Bumrah has taken 13 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2024 and leads the list as far as India’s bowling is concerned.

After winning the Player of the Match award twice at the start of the tournament, Bumrah has steadily improved and is certainly not a bowler any South African batsman would be keen to face.

Arshdeep Singh

With an economy of 7.50, Arshdeep has taken 15 wickets in the World Cup and is currently the highest wicket-taker for India in the tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, he registered his best bowling performance of 4/9 in a T20I against the USA. He will be desperate to add more wickets to his tally in the final as he looks to give India early breakthroughs and keep the match tight in the final moments.
