The Infinix Note 40 Pro has a stylish and elegant design that you will definitely want to show off. It has a vegan leather back with a golden camera module with a silver colour. The leather back feels good in the hand and is less prone to stains and scratches.
The company bundles a Free Style case with the phone which is a MagCase and comes with magnetic wireless charging capabilities. We got a Vintage Green colour unit for review and the phone has a similar leather back case cover in the box.
The Infinix Note 40 Pro comes with a large rectangular-shaped camera module that houses triple camera sensors and a circular LED flash. The most striking feature of the smartphone is the Active Halo Lighting, which is powered by AI. This multicoloured light turns on to show notifications for incoming calls, messages, gaming, and more. The halo ring also lights up when you put your phone on charge. This is an interesting feature that will definitely grab attention.
The smartphone has curved edges with golden rims that look premium and classic in design. The power button is on the right edge. Above it is the volume control button. The earpiece and microphone are placed on the top edge of the phone. The USB Type-C charging port is placed on the bottom edge along with the SIM card tray and speakers that are powered by JBL sound.
On the front is a 6.67-inch 10-bit AMOLED screen with a resolution of FHD+. The curved display has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. The phone has adaptive brightness that adjusts according to the surrounding environment, making it suitable for use even in sunlight.
The smartphone offers support for HDR videos on YouTube. The screen of the Infinix Note 40 Pro is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which makes it less prone to scratches. Additionally, the handset comes with IP54 water and dust resistance as well as IP remote control and multifunctional NFC support. Overall, the phone feels durable and sturdy.

Talking about performance, the Infinix Note 40 Pro has a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor. The smartphone has 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. However, there is no microSD card slot in the device, which means you cannot expand the phone’s storage beyond 256GB.
The handset performs well in day-to-day tasks and can handle multi-tasking with ease without any delays. Switching between apps is smooth without any time lag. The Infinix Note 40 Pro offers a smooth experience when engaged in gaming sessions. We did not notice any major heating while gaming.
The Infinix Note 40 Pro features dual speakers with sound from JBL. The handset delivers an immersive audio experience that is both clear and loud.
The smartphone runs on the company’s own XOS 14 based on the Android 14 operating system. The UI is intuitive and easy to use. It is comparatively clean with minimal bloatware and only one third-party app – Facebook. The OS allows users to customize their experience on the Infinix Note 40 Pro by changing the wallpaper, theme, and notification bar. The display supports dynamic status bar – a pill-shaped icon around the punch-hole to show notifications like calls, charging, etc. Infinix is offering two years of software updates and three years of security updates.
Another feature in the Infinix Note 40 Pro is an AI assistant – Folex which is powered by ChatGPT. The AI assistant can make calls, take photos, play music, and do other tasks.
Infinix Note 40 Pro Camera
The Infinix Note 40 Pro has a punch-hole camera on the front. It has a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls. The handset is capable of taking good selfies. However, skin tones do not look natural which we feel could be improved. Also, selfies look over-saturated and beautified. The pictures also lack detailing.
At the back, the phone has a triple camera setup that includes a 108MP primary camera with f/1.75 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). The main sensor is paired with a 2MP depth and macro camera. The camera app is easy to use with a clean UI. Some of the camera features of the phone include timelapse, slow motion, dual video support, and super night mode.
The performance of the primary rear camera is satisfactory with bright and vibrant photos in daylight. However, the colours are slightly enhanced to make the images more appealing. However, this may not be an issue for many. The depth camera offers good edge detection. Users can also choose to adjust the depth effect as per their preference.
Photos taken at night lack detail. Objects are smoothed to reduce noise in photos, which leads to a loss of detail. Also, colors are less vibrant. The macro camera performance on the Infinix Note 40 Pro is also satisfactory.

The company has added the Cheetah X1 chip in the Infinix Note 40 Pro to optimise power management on the device. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery. It comes with support for multi-speed fast charging, reverse charging, and multi-mode fast charging with bypass charging. The handset comes with 45W fast charging. The Infinix Note 40 Pro takes about an hour to power up from 20 to 100 percent battery level.
The accessories that come with the phone include a MagPower – a slim power bank that supports wireless charging. While it is a good backup if you are out and about and the power runs out, charging the phone with the MagPower takes a comparatively long time.
In terms of battery life, the Infinix Note 40 Pro has a good battery life. On a single charge, it can easily last more than a day for a normal user. The battery backup reduces when you are busy with gaming or streaming activities.
