Indian National Lok Dal (INLD(Shiromani Akali Dal’s support to Kurukshetra candidate Abhay Singh Chautala)Downhearted) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday filed his nomination papers to contest the Lok Sabha elections at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office of Kurukshetra.
Abhay was also accompanied by INLD’s Karnal candidate Maratha Virendra Verma and his wife Kanta Singh Chautala, who filed nomination as his backup candidate.
After filing nomination papers, top leaders of INLD and SAD addressed a large public meeting at the theme park in Kurukshetra.
In their address, INLD and SAD leaders targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party.BJP) Top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the issues of farmers and the poor. He stressed the need to strengthen regional parties in the states by defeating national parties that ‘take directions from Delhi’.
Badal sought votes for Abhay and promised full support to INLD across Haryana. Abhay also sought votes for himself and his party’s candidates in other Lok Sabha seats in the state.
Abhay Chautala Said, “BJP is taking votes in the name of Modi’s guarantees, but when questioned it talks about creating a developed India by 2047 and fails to share the vision for the next five years.” In 10 years, Modi ji and Manohar Lal Khattar government has failed the country and the state. Narendra Modi ji sold railways, airports, insurance and banks. All the institutions that provide income to the country have been handed over to Ambani and Adani. “He even waived off the huge loan of Ambani and Adani.”
“Modi ji had promised us in 2014 to implement the Swaminathan report and give MSP on crops. But farmers are still fighting for their rightful law guaranteeing MSP. No one has received Rs 15 lakh in their account as promised by Modi ji”, Abhay said.
“Modi ji had brought three black agricultural laws, but I congratulate the farmers of Punjab for starting the struggle. I also congratulate the farmers of Haryana, who welcomed and supported the farmers of Punjab. The movement grew bigger and farmers from other states also joined it and after 13 months the Prime Minister was forced to change his decision. Abhay Chautala said, I also resigned from Haryana Assembly in support of farmers.
Abhay targeted his rival candidates Naveen Jindal of BJP and Sushil Gupta of AAP. He said, “Naveen Jindal was first forced to fund BJP through electoral bonds. Then by misusing power, pressure was put on him and he was included in BJP and made to contest elections from Kurukshetra. This is the same Jindal about whom Modi ji had hinted that he had committed a coal scam.” Regarding Gupta, Abhay said, ”Sushil Gupta is a stranger to the people of Kurukshetra and Haryana. He has no contribution in the struggle of Haryana.”
Speaking in Punjabi language, Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “No prime minister should talk about one religion alone” and said it is unfortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are talking about farmers or the poor. Not talking, but provoking the members.” One religious community will fight against the other.”
“Our country belongs to everyone, be it Hindu, Sikh, Christian or Muslim. The Prime Minister of the country represents everyone and should not take any step on behalf of one religious community alone. They should not represent two-three businessmen, but should talk about the welfare of crores of farmers and the poor”, Sukhbir Singh said.
Badal said that INLD and SAD are like real brothers. Both the parties belong to farmers, poor and labourers. Our relationship is not political but of the heart. Both the parties are grassroots and belong to our states (Punjab and Haryana). I want to tell the people of Haryana that if INLD is their only regional party and all other parties take instructions from Delhi, be it Sonia Gandhi, Modi Saheb or Kejriwal.
He said the BJP made three farm laws without consulting farmers or even its ally SAD. “That is why we decided to leave the NDA government. Bhaisaheb Abhay Singh Chautala also resigned from the membership of the Assembly. We both did this because we understand the pain of the farmers and are committed to protecting their interests.
