Virat Kohli extended his record for most centuries in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by scoring his eighth century and first of this season against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 6.

He now has a lead of two centuries against Chris Gayle, who has six centuries in IPL history. Virat has been a part of the IPL since its inception in 2008.


Most IPL Centuries

Virat Kohli is now on top in terms of most centuries in IPL cricket with eight centuries. Behind him is Gayle who has scored six IPLP centuries while Jos Buttler is also playing in this game and is currently batting on 43 while chasing the target of 184. He has five centuries to his name. KL Rahul, Shane Watson and David Warner have all scored four centuries in cricket’s richest league.

Virat Kohli’s century in every season of IPL.

Kohli, who has scored eight centuries, scored his first century in 2016, eight seasons after his debut. But this was the same season in which he made three more records for scoring most centuries in a single season. 35 year old Kohli also scored two centuries in IPL 2022.
