Mehreen Noman Rais, 39, founded her company based in Mumbai. Nightwear Labels in January 2015, due to her love for collared PJ sets and the lack of quality options in India. What started as a personal passion project is now a successful brand, which will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025. Sustainability has played a key role in its identity.
When asked about her inspiration, Mehreen said, “I have a great love for sleep, so my career has to be something I am passionate about – fashion and sleep!” She also stresses the importance of self-care, believing you can give something to others only when you take care of yourself.
With experience of working in top fashion houses like Manish Malhotra, Pernia’s Pop-up Studio and Kimaya Fashion, Mehreen naturally decided to start her own brand. She ventured into the nightwear sector at a time when there were very few options in the market in India.
Her vision is global, and though her pyjama sets were shipped across the world in the first year itself, she feels there is still a lot to achieve. Celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora, Shraddha Kapoor and Bipasha Basu have been spotted in her designs, making this another dream come true for Mehreen.

Mehreen has also expanded the brand to include pillow sprays infused with lavender oil for better sleep and candles infused with Japanese cherry blossom scent to create a relaxing ambiance that complement the PJ sets.
