Garner, 52, and her mother, Pat Garner, talked on Instagram about the attention they’ve received since debuting their “pretend cooking show.”

“People are really nice to me, and they’re really nice to my mom, too,” Garner said on the program. “Today” show. “And I think that no matter what brand — or no brand — whatever fame I have, it’s a good kind of thing. People just come up to me and want to say hi, and it’s like they know me. They’re always friendly and loving to me.”

“It’s hard not to like people if you like them,” she said, adding that her mother had a similar experience with fame after her show went viral.

Garner and her mom spoke candidly about it “13 going on 30” A study into the star’s childhood revealed that Pat wasn’t exactly a “disciplinarian.”

“I tried to be a disciplinarian, because the parents I admired were disciplinarians, but I’m not really a disciplinarian,” Pat said.

“We all kind of fell in line,” Garner explained. “I don’t know what Mom and Dad did. We respected them a lot. And we were a little bit afraid of Dad. I can’t say we were afraid of you, Mom.”

“No, I don’t think you were,” Pat replied. “Bill was very proud of the fact that all his boyfriends were a little afraid of him.”

Garner grew up in Charleston, West Virginia, with her siblings Melissa Garner and Susannah Garner. After graduating from high school, Garner enrolled at Denison University, where she studied theater. Eventually, the actress moved to New York City and began her acting career at the Roundabout Theater Company.

Garner’s mother admitted she mostly sat by silently while the “Juno” star made decisions about her future, including changing her major from chemistry to theater.

Pat said, “We supported our kids in whatever they wanted to do, and we never objected to Jennifer or anything else, but Bill said to the people he worked with, ‘Well, now I have to support her for the rest of my life.'”

“You told me to change my major,” Garner protested. “You said, ‘Just study what you like. If you want to go back to school later you’ll understand, but you’re spending all your time in theater. Just study that.'”

“I probably did,” her mother admitted.

Garner rose to fame playing Sydney Bristow in “Alias.” The actress received four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for this role. She was also nominated for four Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards, winning one each for “Alias.”

Garner starred in hits such as “Electra”, “13 Going on 30”, “Daredevil” and “Pearl Harbor”. Most recently, she finished production on “Deadpool & Wolverine”, which is scheduled to hit theaters July 26.

When it comes to her own parenting style, Garner has tried to take inspiration from her mother. Pat admitted that there were “no rules” for the three girls and that they were good kids “in every way.” Garner is still not sure she is into the “free style” of parenting.

“I have teenagers, but they’re not at that level, but I’ve tried,” Garner explained. “If your mom is like mine you’ll want to be like your mom in every way. So, I try to let them go freely. There’s no guilt. I just try to say, ‘Whatever it is, we’ll move forward. No judgment.'”

Garner has three children – Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 – with Ex-husband Ben Affleck.

The “Alias” star and Affleck married in 2005. They announced their separation in 2015.

“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple said in a joint statement at the time. “We move forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children, whose privacy we ask that be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”

However, Garner and Affleck didn’t finalize their divorce for another three years.

During this time, Affleck went to rehab twice and the two also sought marriage counseling.

Despite their separation, Garner still supports her co-parent.

Between Affleck and Marital Drama with Jennifer LopezGarner, whom he married in 2022, has been spotted at the “Argo” actor’s home.

Garner was photographed arriving at Affleck’s rental home on June 15, just days after she joined the actor and Lopez to celebrate son Samuel’s graduation. According to People magazine, Affleck is staying at the rental home while he sorts out issues with Lopez.

While it’s unclear what caused the rift between the couple, it appears they often clash over parenting styles.

“They keep having fights over differences in how to raise their kids,” a source told Fox News Digital. “Their parenting styles are very different.”

Lopez is currently While Affleck has been staying at home, celebrating Paris Fashion Week alone. The “Let’s Get Loud” singer previously went on a solo vacation to Italy.
