Justin Fields and Caleb Williams will forever be linked to each other.

The Chicago Bears selected Fields in the first round in 2021. He’s going to spend his first three years NFL Career in Chicago. Last March, that same franchise decided to trade Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2025. Less than a month later, the Bears used the first overall draft pick on Williams.

Fields experienced his fair share of ups and downs during his 40-game tenure BearBut he appears to have found his niche with the Steelers. Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson was named the starter for the 2024 regular season, but was ruled out of Pittsburgh’s season opener against the Atlanta Falcons with a hamstring injury.

Fields helped the Steelers to an 18-10 win over the Falcons in Atlanta. Last week, Fields threw a touchdown and prevented a turnover on the ball in one game. Denver Broncos to help Pittsburgh improve to 2–0 on the season.

Meanwhile, Williams’ final stats following his NFL debut were largely forgettable. The Bears scored 24 points, which was enough to beat the team. Tennessee TitansBut Williams finished the day with just 93 passing yards and no touchdowns.

Williams had another stellar performance on Sunday night as the Bears lost 19-13 to the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans.

Fields faced similar issues during his tenure with the Bears. Matt Nagy was the head coach during Fields’ rookie campaign, while the Bears’ current regime, led by Matt Eberflus, was in place when the 25-year-old signal-caller was in Chicago.

Fields worked under several different offensive coordinators during his tenure in the Windy City, but Eberflus’ offensive approach remained largely the same. Eberflus decided to bring in Shane Waldron from the Seahawks to guide Williams this season, but the results of the first two games were disappointing.

Fields can certainly understand Williams’ situation, and he told Fox News Digital that he believes the Heisman Trophy winner will eventually recover from a slow start.

“I think he’ll be fine,” Fields said when asked how Williams will perform as the season progresses. “This is his second game. He just finished playing. He’s talented, he has all the talent in the world. They drafted him No. 1 for a reason.

“Of course, it’s not just his fault, but he’s going to get a lot of the blame because of the situation he’s in,” he added. “But overall … the guys I know over there … they want to get better, and I think they’ll get better. So, I’m hoping they start doing (the things) on offense that they need to do.”

“(Caleb) played two really good defenses, so I think he’ll be fine.”

Fields spoke to Fox News Digital on behalf of Reebok. This month, NFL star Teamed up with Reebok For the new Justin Fields collection.

The collaboration features a training shoe called the Nano X4, a running shoe, the Flotzig 1, and a youth-sized shoe known as the Zig Dynamica 2.0. Each shoe in the collection features the “Evening the Playing Fields” mantra imprinted in the sock liner.

“It’s an honor to launch the Justin Fields Collection with Reebok and continue our shared mission to support the next generation of athletes,” Fields said. “This collection is designed to pay homage to my roots and the community around me.”

Fields was named “Mr. Georgia Football” during his stellar high school football career. He committed to the Bulldogs. But after experiencing limited playing time during his freshman season, he transferred to Ohio State. He went on to lead the team in rushing Buckeyes For an appearance in the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

At just 25 years old, Fields has experienced a lot in his football career. He said his faith and his family help him stay grounded.

“Honestly, God, because I’ve seen how he’s worked in my life in those moments,” Fields told Fox News Digital when he considered changing schools and joining a new NFL team. “In any person’s life, we all get ideas in our heads about how we want to do certain things, and that may not always be God’s will. He does things differently, and it’s better than you can imagine.”

“So, I rely on them every day and my family, really, the people that support me. Because I know that God put me on this platform to inspire others… Other people see what I’ve been through, so I just try and play a good character because at the end of the day, we’re all going through something.”

Fields and the Steelers welcome the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers Pittsburgh’s regular-season home opener is set for Sept. 22 at Accrisure Stadium.
