Social media is flooded with reviews from movie lovers. Mohanlal’s ‘Olavum Theeravam’ and especially Mammootty’s ‘Kadugannava’ have caught the attention of the audience. Let’s take a look at some reactions from movie lovers online on ‘Manorathangal’.
A cinephile praised Mohanlal’s performance as Baputti in ‘Olavum Theeravam’. The post on X read, “#Manorathangal Series Episode 1: Olavum Theeravam (58 mins) #Mohanlal’s performance as Baputti is brilliant. Mamukoya scenes

.Durga Krishna’s acting as Nabisa was not up to the mark. @priyadarshandir has captured that moment in brilliant black and white and the rain scenes are also great.”

Another X user said he watched the entire series in one go. “Watched E1, 2 and 6 first… obviously. Impressive! Eagerly waiting for the other episodes. #Manorathangal #Mohanlal #Mammootty #FahadFaasil.”

Mammootty’s performance in ‘Kadugannawa’ has left another movie lover surprised. A note on X read, “#Manorathangal Episode – 02 #Kadugannawa. Though short, it was a very well executed episode. Ikka played his role effortlessly and gave a performance that was emotionally engaging. Overall a great episode. #Mammootty #Manorathangal Episode – 01.”
Further in the note, the x user said that Priyadarshan has managed to execute the much-awaited ‘Olavum Theravum’ well. “#OlavumTheravum. Surprisingly, it was great. Priyadarshan executed it neatly, and the black-and-white cinematography is impressive. Lalettan gave a satisfactory performance, but the heroine casting could have been better #Mohanlal.”

Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘Sherlock’ is also getting great response, “Saw #Kadugannawa from #Manorathangal and it’s hilarious. The last smile from #Mammootty to Leela was so heartwarming. Saw #FahadFaasil #Sherlock and it’s nothing short of impressive. Also saw Indrajith #Kadlakkattu and it’s good by Ratheesh Ambat. Will watch the other 6 volumes soon.”

Another netizen wrote, “#Manorathangal ep 1 Olavum Theeravum #Mohanlal has acted beautifully as Baputti. Mamukoya. Everyone else did their job well. @priyadarshinir has depicted that era beautifully in black and white. A very good tribute to the old one.”

Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer ‘Kazhcha’ impressed a movie lover. “#Manorathangal Series Episode 3: Kazhcha (46 mins) Directed by Shyamaprasad. #ParvathyThiruvothu looks stunning in this short romantic episode. #Ouseppachan’s songs and background score are beautiful. #MTVasudevanNair,” reads the post on X.

Someone else wrote, “#Olaavumatheravam was nice. Mohanlal and Mammukoya brought back old memories together for the last time on screen. Priyadarshan somehow managed to pack in the emotions in the short runtime of the film. Good that they didn’t try to force Malabar slang on A10 this time #Manorathangal.”

A cinephile wrote, “#Olaavumatheravam A fine monochrome work by #Priyadarshan that turns out to be a beautiful tribute to MT’s work, enhanced by #Mohanlal’s balanced, effortless and subtle performance in Lalettan. The legend excels in Malabar slang ~ a sweet reply to critics. #Manorathangal.”

An x user praised Mohanlal’s ‘Olavum Theeravam’ and also called Mammootty a great performer. #Manorathangal Episode 1: #OlavumTheeravam Review: A good attempt by #Priyadarshan to retell a classic story. The performances of the cast are the biggest positive aspect. However, personally I felt it would have been better if a younger actor played the role of Baputty. The romance did not resonate emotionally. The whole experience felt like watching a black and white movie from the 70s, except for one scene when a red bangle is shown in colour. The remake did not change anything from the original source material. Watch it keeping in mind that this segment is made like an old movie. So, do not expect realistic dialogues or any modern cinematic tropes. #Mammukoya was the best performer in the movie. #Mohanlal.”
