To combat this, exfoliate with a gentle scrub to remove dead skin cells and clear clogged pores. Even with humidity, your skin needs moisturizers to combat dry air, which can make your skin look dull. Regular moisturization helps reduce wrinkles and maintain skin glow”, advises Dr. Aparna.

Another aspect that is often overlooked during monsoons is the importance of sunscreen. Despite the cloudy weather, harmful UV rays can penetrate and damage the skin. Dr. Santhanam emphasises, “Sunscreen is an essential part of your skin care routine all year round. UV rays can cause a lot of damage to the skin even on cloudy days. Use a sunscreen with full-light technology that will effectively protect your skin from harmful rays and prevent premature ageing.”
