As the social media world enjoys the famous chocolate muffin made at the Paris Olympics, many have tried to recreate it a gift like a cake Self.

Fox News Digital spoke to a New York chef who did just that in a widely shared instructional video inspired by the Olympic Village version that Norwegian swimmer Henrik Kristiansen, now known as the “Muffin Man,” first promoted on TikTok.

Daniela Sepsi is the founder of Hungry Gnome, a social organization. Wholesale Bakery and catering company based in New York City.

“Although I’ve never had an Olympic muffin, from watching the video I realised it was a really rich, luxurious kind of dish. Chocolate cake-style muffins “It also had chocolate ganache in the middle. There were chocolate pieces inside and on top of the muffin as well,” he told Fox News Digital in a phone interview.

He decided to repeat it.

“Some people would say mine looks even better than the real thing,” Sepsi said.

She has her own “Dupe” recipe spoke with Fox News Digital and offered a specific tip to help those inspired to make it at home.

“I like to refrigerate the batter for a few hours or overnight,” she said.

“It really helps Flavors This helps the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients get to know each other and create the best texture. So, patience is key.”

Chocolate muffins inspired by the Olympic Village by Danielle Sepsi of New York City

About 9 Jumbo Muffin (Be sure to get a jumbo pan for best results).

Material

  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 packet (3.9 ounce box) instant chocolate pudding mix (Jello brand preferred)
  • 1½ cups cake flour (not self-rising)
  • ½ cup dark cocoa powder (such as Dutch processed)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ¾ tsp fine salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ⅓ cup buttermilk
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Ganache

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ¼ cups bittersweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.

2. Line jumbo 6-ounce muffin cups with paper muffin liners.

3. In the large bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter, sugar, and canola oil until the mixture is light and creamy. Add the vanilla extract and beat until well combined.

4. Add eggs one at a time and beat until blended.

5. Beat in the dry chocolate pudding mix until blended.

6. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder so that there are no lumps.

7. On low speed, add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in two installments, alternating with the sour cream. Beat until the mixture is smooth and no streaks of flour can be seen. Next, beat in the buttermilk until the mixture is smooth. Add 1½ cups of the chocolate pieces.

8. Pour the batter into the lined muffin cups. You want them to be full and have a nice dome shape. I like to add a few more chocolate pieces on top before baking.

9. Place the muffins in the oven at 400°F for 5 minutes, then leave the muffins in the oven and reduce the temperature to 325°F for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

10. Eat it as is or add ganache. See below.

11. In a small saucepan, combine the bittersweet chocolate and condensed milkPlace over medium heat, stirring constantly until the chips melt. Add the vanilla extract and whisk, then transfer the ganache to a pastry bag.

12. Using a paring knife, scoop out about a 1-inch round from the center of each muffin. Spoon a little ganache into the hole and enjoy.
