President Biden has long attempted to distance himself from his family’s business dealings since he ran for and eventually became president, but a new report details how people close to the president have been involved in the Biden family’s ventures.
According to a report from Politico, Biden shares a personal bookkeeper with his son Hunter Biden, a personal attorney with his brother Jim Biden, and then-Vice President Biden’s former Secret Service chief helped Jim Biden investigate a potential Chinese business partner.
While the Bidens have long said they adhere to a strict “firewall” when it comes to discussing business with one another, Politico’s report details how people around the president have been involved in dealings with Hunter and Jim Biden.

The Politico report also detailed the role that another of Hunter Biden’s business partners, personal bookkeeper Eric Schwerin, played within the family, with President Biden relying on him to manage his finances.

The connection between the president’s orbit and his family also extends to President Biden’s personal physician, Army doctor Kevin O’Connor. Between these two roles, the president’s brother Jim Biden sought O’Connor’s help as part of his proposed Americore deal.
