MSNBC host Rachel Maddow claimed during an appearance on “The Guardian” program that there are “no parallels” between left-wing anti-Semitism and right-wing white nationalism.behind the table” podcast.
Maddow appeared on a behind-the-scenes podcast for “The View” after joining the political talk show as a guest on Tuesday. There, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked her about anti-Semitism on the right and left in modern times, referencing Maddow’s book about fascism in the 1930s.
“We remember Charlottesville, but I have to be honest. I’m also very afraid of the left-wing anti-Semitism that I’ve seen,” said Farrah Griffin. She asked Maddow if she was also concerned about left-wing anti-Semitic protests.
“Anti-Semitism can come from both sides,” said Farrah Griffin. “Are you afraid of that? And how do we confront that as a society, knowing we’re only 80 years removed from the Holocaust?”

Maddow said she doesn’t believe there are any similarities between right-wing and left-wing anti-Semitism.
“It’s one of those situations where there’s no reflection,” he said.
The MSNBC host argued that the right-wing “neo-Nazi, ultra-racist, white supremacist movement” is not a new threat. He claimed that the real threat is that the US president is supporting it, implying that former President Trump did so.
“The danger is that people in powerful positions, like the White House, can invite it” and “put their stamp of approval on it,” he said.

He added, “This kind of accelerator is very dangerous. I think it has no parallel on the left. I don’t think you’ll see President Biden supporting it.”
Prior to this conversation, Farah Griffin had told how the former President Holocaust deniers were invited and proposed moving the white nationalist retreat to Mar-a-Lago in 2022, for which he was criticized by Republicans.
Maddow argued that although there is freedom of speech in the US, this does not mean that the views of someone with racist views should be promoted or supported by “any political party or anyone in high political office”.
Unlike Trump, he argued that President Biden and the Democratic Party have taken a “responsible” approach to anti-Semitic protests over the war in Gaza.

He claimed, “The Democratic Party and Joe Biden, personally, and the Biden administration, are responsible in this regard. They are saying, ‘Yeah, we’re not in favor of this extremism on our side or the other side.’ In the case of Trump, it’s exactly the opposite.”

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung responded to Maddow’s claims in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Maddow is so hypocritical that she can’t even condemn violent anti-Semitism on her own behalf. Meanwhile, there has been no greater friend and ally to the Jewish people and Israel than President Trump, and his impeccable record shows that,” he said.

during his appearance On the political talk show this week, Maddow and co-host Joy Behar worried that former President Trump could get their liberal talk show shut down if he becomes president again.
Behar asked, “I think he’s so vindictive that he’ll do whatever it takes to get us or you off the air, whether through the IRS or through sponsors. How seriously should we take that?”
Maddow said she does not believe any critic of Trump in the United States is “safe” from his sentence.
“I think it’s bad for a person to say, ‘Give me all the power I can in this country so I can use it to attack other Americans, so I can use it to attack these subhuman internal enemies and destroy them.’ That’s not a good system for anybody, and I don’t think anybody is safe if that kind of basis is the basis on which he wants to get more power,” Maddow said.
