Retired NYPD lieutenant reveals how the Biden-Harris administration ‘skewed’ crime records: ‘It doesn’t require qualitative talent’

Former law enforcement The US State Department reacted after the Biden administration said that violent crime had fallen to the lowest level in 50 years as a result of its policies.

Former New York Police Department Lt. Darrin Porcher argued that the White House has selectively cited crime statistics to say that crime rates in the United States are at record lows.

“I strongly believe in the gesture of the figures or the beholder, meaning that if you’re the person who is the holder of the figures, you can create a path that better fits what you’re trying to express,” he told Fox News Digital.

“That’s what the White House is doing in this particular article,” Porcher said. “But it doesn’t take a quantitative genius to recognize that crime has gone up.”

In real terms, Porcher said, there has been “a lot of growth” over the past three years. Under Biden’s leadership,

“There’s been a tremendous increase in crime over the last three years under the Biden administration, as we deal with the migrant crisis, violent crimes that occur in cities or counties where ordinary citizens live,” he said.

“Perception is important,” Porcher said. “Whenever we as ordinary citizens feel crime is high, at that point the onus is on the government to enforce the rule of law.”

Porcher said that Department of Justice The Uniform Crime Report (UCR) is used to measure crime in the U.S. Porcher said this report does not give the “full picture” of crime because it reports all reported crimes and does not follow them through to resolution.

“You have many instances where someone reports a crime saying their car was stolen, but then they find out 2 or 3 days later that it wasn’t stolen, they just forgot where they parked the car,” he said. “That crime is already listed on the Uniform Crime Report. There’s no one who can go back and add an addendum to it.”

Porcher stated that the UCR could be used to manipulate crime statistics in either a favorable or unfavorable manner.

“The UCR Uniform Crime Report may be skewed in a favorable or unfavorable direction in terms of crime increases or decreases. And that’s what the White House is promoting as the standard-bearer,” he said. “I disagree with that because we need a more qualitative approach.”

In a press releaseThe White House contributed the record low crime rate to the administration’s American Rescue Plan. The plan provided funding to invest $15 billion in law enforcement and public safety.

The White House also claimed that Biden signed “the most significant gun violence legislation in nearly 30 years.”

Porcher argued that the administration’s implementation of “red flag laws” – gun control laws that allow people to petition courts for a civil order to temporarily suspend a person’s access to firearms – may not be the best course of action for the US.

“I think gun control means well, but I don’t think it works, because we have more guns and more people in the United States,” he said. “You’re closing the door when the horse has already run away.”

“I truly believe that the best way to reduce gun violence is to do the necessary interception by law enforcement, which means enforcing the law according to the law. If you enforce the law according to the law, you will reduce gun violence rapidly,” he said. “But if you rely only on the gun control method, it will only allow criminals to obtain firearms, and discourage law-abiding citizens.”

The former NYPD lieutenant said that “history best describes what’s going to happen in the future” and that the consequences of the progressive agenda in major U.S. cities like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City should be considered.

“When we talk about what’s happening in big cities, history is the best example of what’s going to happen in the future,” he said. “If you don’t pay attention, you’ll repeat the same mistakes that happened in the past.”

“So when we look at the big cities, As Los Angeles“We’re seeing clearly that there’s a progressive agenda in Chicago, San Francisco, New York that doesn’t necessarily lead to punishing criminals,” he said. “But it seems that law-abiding citizens are the victims of a failure of justice.”

“Criminals are being given more rights, and we as ordinary citizens are being given fewer rights,” Porcher said.
