What causes premature aging?

The loss of collagen and elastin, two key proteins that provide your skin with youthful suppleness and elasticity, causes your skin to look dry, thin and wrinkled. Exposure to sunlight for many years causes dark spots to form everywhere. Gravity also takes its toll by constantly pulling on your thin skin, resulting in sagging eyes and eyebrows. If you have a family history of prematurely wrinkled skin and hyperpigmentation, you are likely to notice these symptoms early on. Additionally, poor eating habits and a variety of environmental and lifestyle factors affect the way we look and feel.
Your skin is a living organ that needs the right nutrition to grow new cells. A poor diet rich in sugar and carbohydrates, as well as excessive alcohol and caffeine, can deprive you of essential hydration and cause premature aging. Similarly, smoking not only causes damage on the inside, but it also causes premature aging of your skin through oxidative stress, which occurs when there are more free radicals in your system than there are antioxidants. The result is loose, wrinkled and blotchy skin. Due to poor sleep as well as excessive mental and emotional stress, your skin starts aging faster.

Anti-Aging Tips to Stay Young

Exercise regularly and get restful sleep

Frequent exercise improves mood, skin and bone health, sleep quality, and reduces stress. After all, the sweat from your workout washes away toxins from your skin. Additionally, the release of endorphins and reduction in cortisol after exercise contributes to the delay of skin aging. Also, make sure you follow a set sleep schedule that includes going to bed and waking up early. A solid seven to nine hours of sleep a day can help you overcome the day’s stress and give your skin enough time to recover.

consume more antioxidants

Antioxidants are essential for fighting skin-damaging free radicals and preventing signs of aging. Food is the most natural and convenient way to get the antioxidants you need. Broccoli, spinach, carrots, asparagus, avocado, beets, radishes, lettuce, sweet potatoes, squash, pumpkin, collard greens, berries, apples, pecans, red grapes and plums are all good sources of antioxidants. Drink enough water.

Moisturize

Use facial moisturizer in the morning or right before bed to keep your face hydrated. Moisturizer oils lock in moisture and keep it from evaporating. Look for lotions that contain retinoids, vitamin C, vitamin A, or green tea extracts. Wrinkles may appear worse in people with dry skin.

protect against uv rays

Protecting your face from UV radiation is one of the most basic things you can do. Limit exposure to direct sunlight during the day when sunlight is at its peak. Wear a hat and sunscreen to protect your forehead, nose, and eyes. Even in winter, use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Make sure the sunscreen is broad-spectrum, protecting against both UVA and UVB radiation. Remember to reapply sunscreen frequently, especially if there is excessive sweating. Consider using skin care products with built-in SPF protection. If you have to spend time in the sun, wear loose, lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and long slacks or skirts.

Cleanse and use an exfoliating toner

Washing your face is the most basic and essential step in any daily routine. Wash twice a day, morning and night, to avoid clogged pores, dullness and acne. Make sure to remove your makeup using makeup remover and wash your face with a suitable cleanser. Keep the water lukewarm and pat your face gently with a soft towel to avoid irritation and loss of natural oils. Toner should be used after cleansing and before applying anything else. Choose ingredients like alpha and beta hydroxy acids, rose water, green tea, and vitamins E and C.
