San Jose State becomes fourth school to cancel Utah State women’s volleyball match amid trans player controversy

The university issued a statement saying it would not participate in the volleyball match scheduled for October 23 at SJSU.

“The university will follow Mountain West Conference policy regarding how to record this match,” The statement said.

A spokesperson for San Jose State also confirmed to Fox News Digital that the Aggies have informed the team that the match has been canceled, and that Utah State will be assessed damages caused by the forfeiture.

If this is made official, Utah State will be the fourth team to lose a matchup with SJSU. Southern Utah, Boise State and the University of Wyoming all did so. None of the three schools had previously given any reason behind the forfeiture other than understanding the consequences of their win-loss records.
