Wilson said that out of a desperate desire to protect the building from trespassers, he and his friends slipped through human chains formed by protesters that night to reach the building’s entrance. When protesters were trying to drag a black metal table to the entrance of the building and tie it to the door, the chains broke, Wilson said.

Chaotic video of the scene shows Wilson and his friend Charles Beck then standing in front of a door while the crowd pushed forward against them.

Wilson, who is Jewish, said, “It was a case of trying to stand up for what I believe is right, even though ultimately we weren’t able to stop the mob.”

“They were working illegally and – different from what you think about the situation in Israel – We know this was wrong and inappropriate.”

“Damaging university property, disrupting school activities, violating the university, whose administration was trying very hard to negotiate with them. I was telling people that this is my protest against you, that they were completely out of line and I was free to stand there as a student on my own campus.”

As Wilson stood his ground, his friend Beck was dragged away by the angry mob.

Wilson says a man dressed in black tried to throw Wilson to the floor, but he was not sure if the man was part of the college.

Wilson said the man had been guarding the encampment on the lawn during the day and called him a “Zionist” as he passed by, while also shouting hateful rhetoric in Arabic, which was later reported by a friend of Wilson’s. Translated as “inborn”.

“He definitely seemed dangerous and was physically intimidating me and grabbing my leg,” Wilson said of the late-night demonstration outside Hamilton Hall. Protestors later placed a banner over the facility naming the building “Hinds Hall”. Hind Rajab was a 6 year old child who died Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza, apparently according to a statement from the group that was posted on X.

Wilson said, “I was stopping because some people were signaling to me that the police might be coming, so I thought I’d stop and make a big barricade to keep the building from getting damaged, but then they never Returns.” ,

As the crowd surrounded him at the door, Wison said another friend told him to leave before things got out of hand.

“I didn’t want to risk it because a masked mob – when they’re already breaking things, vandalizing, you don’t know how violent it can be, so I left.”

Wilson, acting as the last line of defense, stepped aside before the mob broke the doors windows and began taking over the building. It is still occupied till this afternoon.

“Security was nowhere to be seen. Immediately after I walked out, my friends called 911 and I called campus public safety saying we had an altercation because they were physically attacking us. There were… but as far as I can tell, there was no response.” All night long,” Wilson said.

Wilson said he felt threatened after the vandalism on campus and that he suspected people dressed in black were following him to his dorm. Other people dressed in black were climbing into buildings through windows, Wilson said, and he was not sure whether they were students or outside agitators.

A suspected professional agitator, aged in her 60s, was captured on video footage being led to the arraignment occupy hamilton hall And Wilson said he condemned her.

“She was bugging me the whole time,” Wilson said. She was attacking me, saying, ‘Do you guys think you’re white saviors? Check your white male privilege. Who Do You Think You Are? It’s not doing anything.”

Wilson said, “I am very disappointed in the university that they sent out an email this morning explaining how much they care about the safety of all students, but when the pressure increases, when there is a truly dangerous situation, they do nothing. Are.” Criticized.

“And I think that reassurance is very hollow if they are not prepared to actually show up and deal with situations when they are really serious. When people are able to stand peacefully in public areas as students of this university are exercising their legitimate rights universityThey are being physically attacked and they do nothing.”
