Jaipur: The 4th National Physical Disability T20 Cricket Championship 2024 will be held in Udaipur from 15 to 25 October.
The eleven-day tournament will be organized under the aegis of Indian Disabled Cricket Council ,DCCI) And Narayan Seva Sansthan (NSS), which has been working in the field of disability for 40 years and has organized national competitions for talents with disabilities five times.
Around 400 disabled cricketers and over 100 sports officials from 24 states will participate in the tournament, with 67 matches to be played across 5 grounds.
The poster of the championship was released here at the Rajasthan Cricket Academy on Monday by DCCI General Secretary Ravi Chauhan, Khatushyam Ji Committee Chairman Maharaj Pratap Singh Chauhan and Chief Patron of PD and Wheelchair Cricket, RDCA President Jyotsna Choudhary and Narayan Seva Santhana officials, public relations. Chief Bhagwan Prasad Gaur and media in-charge Vishnu Sharma were well-wishers.
24 teams including Rajasthan, Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu Kashmir, Baroda, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Mumbai, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Chandigarh, West Bengal. Vidarbha, Tamil Nadu and Bihar will participate in the meeting.
On this occasion, DCCI General Secretary Ravi Chauhan said that any number of congratulations to Narayan Seva Sansthan President Prashant Aggarwal and Chairman Founder Kailash ji ‘Manav’ on receiving Padma Shri will be less.
He further informed that the players of the respective state teams have been selected on the basis of their performance in various tournaments held last year. All these players are above 18 years of age. Most of the players in this championship suffer from one arm or one leg or suffer from congenital physical disability. The body of some players is also semi-developed. In fact, DCCI and Narayan Seva Sansthan are playing an important role in giving a platform to the disabled and giving them a life full of rights.
The opening and closing ceremony will be held at Field Club, Udaipur.
The winning team will be awarded a rolling trophy at the closing ceremony. The matches will be played at Udaipur Field Club, BN University Ground, Geetanjali Ground, Narayan Para Sports Academy, Dabok and Karanpur Cricket Ground.
The 24 participating teams have been divided into four groups and there will be 8 matches every day. There will be 60 league matches of all four groups from 15 to 22 October. The semi-finals will be played between the winners of Group A and Group D and the winners of Group B and Group C on October 24. The final will be played on October 25 at the Field Club.

The institute is committed to provide complete rehabilitation to the disabled by providing surgeries, artificial limbs, self-employment and mass marriages. More than 11 lakh disabled people have benefited from the institute in some way or the other. This championship is also another step in this direction.
Public Relations Officer of the institute, Vishnu Sharma Hiteshi said that in this competition the institute is cooperating in food, accommodation, medical, transport and field arrangements in Udaipur. This competition will be telecast live on FanCode.
For the success of the 11-day cricket championship, 20 committees have been formed by the institute, which include committees on welcome, security, traffic, cleanliness, food, accommodation, practice, timetable, grounds, discipline, medical, water etc. ,
In standing cricket there is a provision to give 4 runners to each team. These are provided to players who are unable to run or are physically unable to run with the help of crutches, artificial limbs. Running between the wickets is important in cricket. Therefore, each team will select from among the options of four disabled runners and submit the list to the umpire before the start of the match.
The cricketer who performs best in this championship, organized with the aim of promoting disabled talents, will be selected for ‘Man of the Series’ by the management on the recommendation of the evaluation committee. He will be given a two-wheeler scooter as a reward. ‘Man of the Match’ awards will be given daily at each ground. Apart from this, prizes will also be given to the winning and runner-up teams.
England’s World Cup champion players are also participating, including Indian team captain Virat Kenny, Mumbai’s Ravindra Sante, Vidarbha’s Gurudas Raut, Bengal’s Tushar Roy, Gujarat’s Asit Jaiswal, Jammu and Kashmir’s Wasim Iqbal and Aamir.
