Adapting a book into a movie is risky. Readers are very passionate about their favorite characters and stories. This can make them very protective of their favorite books. Seeing a story come to life on screen is sometimes a flop, but sometimes it is also very successful.
Books of different genres, From fantasies to thrillers, science-fiction epics to romance tales, everything has been adapted into movies over the years.

1. “Harry Potter”
“Harry Potter” Film Franchise Based on the best-selling novels by JK Rowling. There are seven books as part of the main series, which began in the late 1990s.
The seven books are “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.
Each of these books was made into a film, except the seventh and final book in the series, which was split into two parts.
The books and films have grown tremendously in popularity, with new audiences joining in each year.
Fans can further immerse themselves in the magical wizarding world by visiting one of the theme parks based on the franchise. Universal locations in California and Florida each have their own. “Harry Potter” Theme Park Which is called the magical world of Harry Potter.
2. “The Hunger Games”
“The Hunger Games” began as a trilogy created by author Suzanne Collins. After the books “The Hunger Games”, “Catching Fire” and “Mockingjay” were released between 2008 and 2010, the films were released in quick succession in 2012.
All three books were made into movies, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, the late Donald Sutherland as President Snow, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne.
In 2020, ten years after the last book in the trilogy, Collins published a new novel, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”. The book serves as a prequel to the popular trilogy, providing more information about President Snow and the early days of the Games.
‘American Sniper’ and other war movies based on real-life military members
It didn’t take long for this prequel to be turned into a movie either. “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” will hit theaters in 2023.
As it appears, Collins is planning to continue with a prequel trilogy Newly announced book “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” is planned for release in 2025.
The events in this book will take place after the events told in “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”, but before the original trilogy. This book will tell the story of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the year when Katniss and Peeta’s mentor Haymitch won the games.
If you like this franchise, Veronica Roth’s “Divergent” books and the movies based on it are also worth checking out, as they’re both based in fictional dystopian societies.
3. “The Shawshank Redemption”
The film “The Shawshank Redemption” is based on the 1982 Stephen King novella “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption”, which is part of his collection Different Seasons.
This film is considered one of the best films ever made.

In 1994 a film based on this story was released, starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The film is about a man named Andy Dufresne (Robbins) who is falsely convicted of murdering his wife and her lover.
He is sent to prison, where he meets Ellis Boyd ‘Red’ Redding (Freeman) and the two become friends.

“The Shawshank Redemption” was nominated for seven Oscar awards.
4. “Pride and Prejudice”
“Pride and Prejudice” was published by Jane Austen in 1813. This book is considered one of the most popular books written by the author.
In 2005 a film came out in which Keira Knightley played the role of Elizabeth Bennet, the main heroine of the story.
The romance film also stars Matthew Macfadyen, Brenda Blethyn and Sutherland.
5. “Forrest Gump”,
The movie “Forest Gump” was inspired by a story written by Winston Groom.
Of course, the films add their own unique elements and changes from the book. Although the story told in “Forest Gump” is not exactly the same in the film and the book, both include similar elements, such as Gump’s low IQ and love for his childhood sweetheart Jenny.

Tom Hanks plays Gump in the film, while Robin Wright plays Jenny.
6. “Notebook”
There’s nothing better than a good love story. Be careful, this story touches the heart.
“The Notebook” is a 1996 book Written by Nicholas Sparks, this book is about an elderly man named Noah who reads a story every day to a woman named Allie, who has dementia, while they are both living in a nursing home.

The story follows a young couple from different social classes, how they met, their tumultuous relationship, and the details of their love. As it turns out, this story is a lot closer to Noah and Allie than she thinks.
The book was made into a movie, starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling as young Allie and Noah.
This is not Sparks’ only book to be turned into a film. His other popular works that have been shown on screen are “A Walk to Remember”, “The Longest Ride”, “The Best of Me”, “The Choice”, “Safe Haven”, “Dear John”, “The Lucky One”, “The Last Song” and “Message in a Bottle”.
7. “The Lord of the Rings”
“The Lord of the Rings” is one of the most popular franchises of all time.
The fantastical, mystical world created by J.R.R. Tolkien has been successfully adapted to the screen.
The main film trilogy, consisting of “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, was released for three consecutive years, starting in 2001.

This was followed by three films based on “The Hobbit”, including “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” in 2012, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” in 2013, and “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” in 2014.
‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘Harry Potter’ and many classic fantasy series are loved by readers
Recently, some new facts have been added to the story, including: Amazon Prime TV Shows “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” The show has two seasons, the first to be released in 2022.
Although the serial is not directly based on any specific book, it takes place thousands of years before the events depicted in the novels.
8. “Gone Girl”
“Gone Girl” is a thriller published in 2012 by Gillian Flynn.
The story is full of mystery, as a man is framed for the disappearance of his wife.
The book was made into a film in 2014. with Ben Affleck Nicholas Dunne and Rosamund Pike star as Amy Dunne.
9. “The Devil Wears Prada”
In 2003, Lauren Weisberger published “The Devil Wears Prada,” a story about a young professional who gets a job as the assistant to the editor-in-chief of a popular fashion magazine.

It did not take much time to bring the story to the screen and it was released in 2006.
The Oscar-nominated film stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Adrian Grenier.
10. “The Godfather”
“The Godfather” movie The trilogy, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, would not have been possible without the work of Mario Puzo, who wrote the books about the fictional Corleone family.
The world was first introduced to the family in 1969, when Puzo published “The Godfather.”

The first two movies were about a Mafia family Both are Oscar winners. The first film, starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino among others, came out in 1972 and won three Oscars. The second film, which came out in 1974, won six Oscars.
