Unfortunately, some individuals never reached home after their escape. After arriving at a tropical destination for a relaxing vacation, tragedy has unfortunately struck various friends, families and couples visiting parts of the world.
These are the stories of eight travelers whose bodies were found during their holidays.

1. Susan Jacques, Florida
Suzanne Jacques was one of a group of high school students traveling from Connecticut to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for spring break in April 1986.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Jacques was 18 at the time when she disappeared from her motel one night, and her body was found floating in a canal three days later, about 35 miles west of Delray Beach. Was found.
When she was found, she was fully clothed and was wearing expensive jewellery. A year later, the Sun-Sentinel reported that her death was still unsolved. Today it appears that the murder is still a mystery to the police.
2. Sativa Transue, Mexico
In November 2021, during Thanksgiving weekend, Sativa Transeu traveled to Mexico With her boyfriend Taylor Allen.
He was reportedly found “beaten to death” the day after his arrival. His body was found by a maid in his hotel room.
On a crowdfunding webpage set up by Sativa’s sister MyKayla Bollieu, Bollieu wrote that Sativa had contacted her the day before Sativa’s death, saying that Sativa and Allen had had an argument.

“At some point, she and her boyfriend got into a fight and Sativa needed stitches. She couldn’t remember what happened,” Bollieu wrote.
According to the Transeau family, Allen was arrested by Mexican authorities on charges of femicide. Transeau was 26 years old when she was murdered while on holiday with her boyfriend and her death was ruled a murder.
It is believed that Allen is in jail in Mexico.
3. Mark Kilroy, Mexico
Mark Kilroy from Austin, Texas, He was killed in March 1989 while on a trip to Matamoros, Mexico, during spring break while he was a student at the University of Texas at Austin.
While studying pre-med in his junior year of college, he went on a trip with a group of friends. During the journey, he was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered in a sacrificial ritual by a Mexican cult.
His body was found in April 1989.

Snow was last seen on hotel video footage walking up the stairs to the elevator.
According to NBC News, officials in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo said he died of mechanical asphyxiation after becoming trapped in a bathroom window. Randy Elledge, Snow’s father-in-law and the Snow family’s attorney, obtained photographs from the crime scene that showed that a large portion of her body had been beaten. Cash was also reportedly missing from his wallet.
Photographs of Snow’s body were later released.
In 2022, Snow’s wife filed a lawsuit against the resort and a local travel agency that helped the couple book the trip.
5. Nathaniel Holmes and Cynthia Ann Day, Dominican Republic
Nathaniel Holmes and his girlfriend, Cynthia Ann Day, were a couple from Maryland who were traveling to the Dominican Republic in late May 2019. The couple was found dead in their resort room by a staff member in June 2019 after reportedly suffering from respiratory failure. The autopsy report revealed that the couple suffered internal bleeding including rupture of pancreas and pulmonary edema.
Several other tourists died in the Dominican Republic the same summer the pair were found.

6. Monica Beresford-Redman, Mexico
Monica Beresford-Redman’s naked body was found in a sewage tank at a hotel in Mexico in April 2010, after her husband reported her missing.
Her husband, Bruce Beresford-Redman, a former “Survivor” producer, was arrested after her body was found in a sewer at the Moon Palace resort on April 8, two days after her disappearance.
Beresford-Redman was convicted of beating and strangling his wife in 2015. He was released from prison in 2019 after serving seven and a half years of a twelve-year sentence, NBC Los Angeles reported. He returned to California in the summer of 2020 to live with his mother and two children. The children were 5 and 3 years old at the time of their mother’s death.
7. Abby Lutz and John Heathcoe, Mexico
Keshav Abby Lutz and John Heathcoe They were discovered by housekeepers at the Rancho Pescadero Hotel in El Pescadero on June 13, 2023, according to KABC.
Lutz was 28 and Heathcoe was 41 at the time of their deaths.
At that time, local police believed that the couple died from poisonous gas. According to prosecutors in Mexico’s Baja California Sur state, the autopsy revealed he died from “intoxication of an unspecified substance.”
Lutz’s half-sister, Gabrielle Slate, said the couple had complained of food poisoning before they passed away. The hotel was temporarily closed on 18 June pending an ongoing investigation following the couple’s death.
Prosecutors believed both had been dead 11 to 12 hours when their bodies were discovered by household servants and said there were no signs of violence. By the time paramedics arrived he was dead.
8. David and Rosalyn Foster, Caribbean
One elderly british couple Found dead on L’Estor Paradise Beach on the island of Carriacou on March 9, 2024, the Royal Grenada Police Force said in a statement.
David, 76, and Rosalyn Foster, 77, died while on holiday in the Caribbean.
