Anderson is running for the seat of Rep. Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat. Announced in November She said she would seek the Democratic Party’s nomination for governor of Virginia in 2025.
“Derrick Anderson has my full support — he will not let you down,” Trump said.
Announcing his campaign in September, Anderson told Fox News Digital that he “could no longer remain silent.”
“I’ve spent my life serving this country, including combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Watching President Biden and Washington Democrats waste 22 years of sacrifice made by our troops and their families was the final blow to me,” Anderson said at the time.
Anderson served in the military from 2006 to 2014 before his first race For Congress in 2022. That year, he lost the Republican primary by a slim margin to former congressional candidate Yesley Vega. Spanberger, a former CIA operative, defeated Vega by about 5% in the general election, securing her third term after being first elected in the 2018 midterm elections.
Anderson advanced to the general election after defeating five other Republicans in the state’s primary on June 18. He will face Democratic Party candidate Vindman on November 5.

In his endorsement of Bakkhout, the Republican candidate said he is ready to work with US President Donald Trump. “Laurie Buckhout has my full and total support,” the former president said.
Buckhout, who served 26 years in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of colonel before retiring in 2010, is aiming to flip the blue House seat to red in her challenge against incumbent Rep. Don Davis, D-N.C.
Buckhout proceeded General election He defeated his only primary opponent, Sandy Smith, in March.
Speaking to Fox News Digital earlier this year, Buckhout accused Davis of US Air Force veteran who served for 14 years in the North Carolina State Senate before being elected to the House in November 2022, being a “career politician” who “has never had a day in his life when he ran a business.”
Additionally, Buckhout accused Davis of being “insistent” President Biden and the Democratic policies that are wreaking havoc on her district.

Davis later hit back at Buckhout’s allegations during an interview with Fox News Digital.

“Let me be clear. I want to thank Colonel Buckhout for her service to our country. But I think she couldn’t have been more wrong with this entire comment, because this is not about leaning on anybody,” the first-term congressman said. “I’ve heard about changing seats. But, for me, this is about fighting every day for the families of eastern North Carolina.”
Buckhout will face Davis, who ran unopposed, in the Nov. 5 general election.
