Trump says Biden had a ‘right to contest’ but Democratic Party ‘took it away’

former president trump He said President Biden had a “right” to run for re-election and the Democratic Party “took that right away” from him, while describing his new opponent Kamala Harris as “the least admired, least respected and worst vice president in the history of our country.”

Trump has a Press conference After holding an off-the-record meeting with major media outlets at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday afternoon, Trump said the Republican presidential nominee wanted to address the media “when they were already in Palm Beach because he’s the most transparent candidate in history.”

Trump said on Thursday that the US was “living through the most dangerous period our country has ever known.”

“We have somebody who didn’t get a single vote for president, and she’s running for office, and that’s fine with me, but we were given Joe Biden, and now we’ve been given somebody else,” Trump said. “I think, frankly, I would have preferred to run against somebody else, but that was their choice.”

Trump held a press conference at Mar-a-Lago that was completely different from Harris’, as Harris kept her distance from the media.

Trump said Harris was “a radical left-wing individual whose level nobody has ever seen,” and added that her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, is a “radical left-wing individual who has views that are unbelievable.”

“He’s very interested in the transgender world, he’s very interested in a lot of different worlds related to security. He doesn’t want borders, he doesn’t want walls. He doesn’t want any kind of security for our country,” Trump said. “He has no problem with people coming out of prison and he doesn’t – I think because it doesn’t matter to him.”

Harris formally became the nominee when Biden suspended his re-election campaign and endorsed her amid pressure from within the Democrat Party. The Democratic National Committee formally nominated Harris as its nominee this week.

“Joe Biden got robbed of the presidency and I’m not a fan of Biden,” Trump said. “From a constitutional standpoint, any standpoint you look at, he got robbed of the presidency and people are saying after the debate he lost and he couldn’t have won.”

Trump added, “Whether he wins or not, he had the right to contest the election, and they took it away, and they said they would use the 25th Amendment.”

Trump said there was pressure from within the Democrat Party and “what they’ve done” is “pretty unbelievable.”

18 days: Kamala Harris hasn’t held a press conference since emerging as presumptive Democratic nominee

“Now I’m contesting against someone else and we’re leading. We’re leading – so I’m not complaining,” he said. “I’m saying, for a country whose constitution we cherish – we cherish this constitution – to do this is very serious, very terrible.”

Trump said he thought Democrats would “come out to vote” or “go to a primary system.”

“But to take that away from him like he’s a child?” Trump asked, adding that Biden is “a very angry man right now.”

“I can tell you he’s not happy with Obama and he’s not happy with Nancy Pelosi,” Trump said. “He’s not happy with any of the people who told him, ‘You have to go.’ He’s very unhappy, very angry.”

Trump said he thinks Biden also blames Harris.

“He’s trying to look good, but it’s a very bad thing for the country when you do that,” Trump said. “I’m not a fan of his, as you probably noticed, and there was a lot of bitterness in his debate, but that doesn’t mean you end it like that.”

Trump said: “You go to vote, you do something — they had 14 million votes. They had no votes.”

“And she’s crashing,” Trump said.

“We have a vice president who is the least admired, the least respected, and the worst vice president in the history of our country,” Trump said of Harris. “She’s the most unpopular vice president.”

Trump also attacked Harris for not speaking to the media. Harris has been the Democratic nominee for 18 days and has not held a formal press conference or given any in-depth interview.

“She’s not doing any news conferences. You know why she’s not doing them? Because she can’t do any news conferences. She doesn’t know how to do a news conference,” Trump said. “She’s not smart enough to do a news conference.”

Trump said he was “very happy” to be running against Harris and said he “doesn’t like defending” Biden, but again pointed to the Constitution.

“We have a Constitution. It’s a very important document, and we live by it. He has no votes, and I’m very happy to run against him. I’m not complaining from that standpoint. And I don’t like defending him, but he didn’t want to go. He wanted to see if he could win,” Trump said. “He said, ‘You’re not going to win.’ After the debate, he said, ‘You’re not going to win. You can’t win. You’re out.'”

Trump said Democrats, after successfully pressuring Biden to drop out of the race, “just picked a guy.”

Trump pointed to Harris’ unsuccessful 2020 Democratic presidential primary campaign, saying she was “the first one out.”

“She was the first loser. All right. That’s why we call her the first loser. She was the first loser when, during the primary system, during the Democrat primary system, she was the first one to drop out, and she did drop out. She had no votes, no support, and she was a bad debater, by the way, a very bad debater,” Trump said. “And that’s not the thing I’m looking forward to. But she was a bad debater. She obviously did a bad job. She never got to Iowa for some reason.”

Trump said he thinks Biden “regrets” appointing Harris as his vice president.

“They elected her and she turned against him, too. She was working with the people who wanted him out,” Trump said. “But the fact is you can get no votes, lose in a primary system. In other words, you had 14 or 15 people. She was the first one to drop out and then you can be elected president.”

“I think it’s actually unconstitutional. Maybe it’s not,” Trump said.
