Leaked photos and packages reveal that Wendy’s is going to begin offering a limited-time meal next month, inspired by the “Krabby Patty” item from the cartoon show SpongeBob SquarePants.
First, photos of an employee memo announcing these items, and then of a package of “Secret Krabby Patty Sauce” were shared on social media.
The employee memo was posted to Reddit’s “r/SpongeBob” on Aug. 21. In the post, user “Bellos1” said they work at wendy’s And this memo was sent to the restaurant by corporate. In a follow-up post several days later, Bellos1 claimed he was fired after posting the memo on Reddit.

The memo states that “Wendy’s will offer its own version of SpongeBob’s iconic Krabby Patty as part of a special Krabby Patty collab with Paramount on October 8.” The promotion is part of a celebration of the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, which debuted in 1999.
Paramount is the parent company of Nickelodeon.
“Along with the Krabby Patty, we are also introducing a new Frosty flavor — the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty,” the memo said.

In the show SpongeBob SquarePants, the main character SpongeBob is employed as a fry cook at a fast food restaurant called the “Krusty Krab”. The restaurant’s signature product is “Krabby Patties”, which resemble hamburgers.
A plot point repeatedly repeated throughout the show is that Plankton, the owner of the rival restaurant “Chum Bucket”, attempts to obtain the Krabby Patty recipe.
The memo states that the alleged new Frosty flavor is inspired by SpongeBob’s house. The opening line of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song asks “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” followed by “SpongeBob SquarePants.”
He explained that this new Frosty is a “vanilla Frosty, infused with pineapple and mango purees.”
Reaction to the Krabby Patty was largely positive, although several Reddit users noted that unlike the Krabby Patties featured on the show, the Wendy’s Krabby Patty was not vegan.

An image of a box and packaging of the “Krabby Patty Secret Sauce” was shared on the r/Wendy’s subreddit by user “catbear33” on September 3. In the post, catbear33 said the restaurant “just received it today,” which matches the timeframe in the memo.
