CM Punk starts the first 2 hours of Raw, Seth Rollins stops him
CM Punk debuted on Raw as an exhausted but victorious Superstar, fresh from his brutal Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood. Punk addressed the fans and his future without giving away anything specific.
Seth “Freakin'” Rollins, who recently made headlines with his surprise return, entered before challenging Bronson Reed and pinned Punk with barely a glance, giving the big man his chance at fame in the squared circle. Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match: Sheamus vs. Pete Dunne
The match began with Sheamus dominating from the start, defeating Pete Dunne with heavy strikes and a brutal Alabama Slam. Dunne countered with a Whirlwind DDT from the Whiskey Barrel, putting the momentum in his favor. Going outside the ring, both men used everything from stools to tables.
Sheamus seemed to be in control after delivering his signature 10 beats of Bodhran on top of the Whiskey Barrel, followed by a devastating white noise through the two tables.
Dunne began a combined manipulation and weapon attack, and Sheamus dug in deep. Despite being handcuffed, Sheamus delivered a pump knee strike followed by a match-ending brogue kick to win with both hands tied behind his back.
Result: Sheamus won.
10-woman tag team match
Match 10 – Women’s tag team match The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) and Pure Fusion Collective (Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark) vs. Natalya, Zelina Vega, Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance; Started off with Zoey Stark dominating Kayden Carter and making fun of Katana Chance. Chaos quickly erupted, with Lyra Valkyria and Zelena Vega delivering high-flying strikes outside the ring. Natalya showed off her strength, turning a double suplex into a double DDT, which changed the momentum.
Zelina Vega delivered a hurricanrana and a twisting stunner on Stark. Sonya Deville’s blind tag saves her from a knee fall to Vega. In the end, Lyra Valkyria secured the victory with a diving leg drop on Deville.
Result: Natalya, Zelina Vega, Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance won.
World Heavyweight Championship: Sami Zayn vs. Gunther (c)
The match began with Gunther controlling Sami Zayn, locking in a headlock and dominating him with brutal strikes. Zayn retaliated by landing several chops and a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Gunther’s relentless power kept him in control, using devastating strikes to wear Zayn down.
Zayn delivered two Helluva Kicks that almost ensured the victory. However, The Ring General revived with a crushing lariat, followed by a T-Rex dropkick and a vicious powerbomb. Gunther locked in a sleeper hold, forcing the referee to stop the match.
Result: Gunther is still WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
